Why all the disgust now?

Everyone knows our defence was terrible early in the season. So why is everyone jumping up and down now when we have a lot of second stringers playing?

I have no idea mate. I as fairly amused reading the game thread when people were blowing up delux….We have a very ordinary squad at full strength. Why are people only just starting to realise this? I picked us for 13th before the season started due mainly to our roster and their collective lack of football ability. At full strength we wouldn't make the 8, I have no idea why peeps thought we could do the job at half strength.

Don't understand this thread. People have blaming individuals - Lawrence and Moltzen etc - for our poor defence. What this game proves is it is our systems that are at fault.

I am calling it very early but Potter will be very lucky to last the season.

Southerntiger, if Royce Simmons is not punted before Potter then those bloody pigs will fly!

Potter is not what I thought to be honest … Even with injuries I thought he could get something out of the lower graders. He certainly is no Bellamy that for sure there just is nothing there and with the talent there should be even with the injuries ,not expecting miracles but a bit of a show...will last for his tenure but I don,t know if any longer.

Mate the buck stops at the top. Potter has final say on everything. He simply isn't the man for the job. Even his mates doubted he had the technical characteristics to make it in the NRL. The problem is our board reads this forum too much.

Parish and Mason are a testament to this.

We are eight weeks in for Christs sake. Potter has been given a second rate Sheens side, had half of them fall like flies, and people are expecting him to win us a premiership or something?

I think some people need to wake up. Seriously

His success or influence in UK has not followed him to WT. not like maguire and souffs.

Southern tiger you are kidding if you think a board would sit there and listen to all the dribble that comes from this forum please. And the end of the day even at full strength out side is ordinary at best, this place needs a massive player overhaul and until that happens we will be bottom four no matter who is coach. We are crap

I reckon some critics live in fantasy land…......they seem to expect someone to rock in with a magic wand and presto! everything shiny and new instantly........looks like a turnaround from poor results from the last year will take some time.

And I reckon it should be obvious by now that Sheens was not the problem. He must be struggling not to smirk watching this club given the way he was treated

lol didnt take long for a Potters no good ,Strykers right on the money and last nights blowout has been coming for weeks .We have a young half who is sulking because he is told he dosent talk out on the field ,so he wants out .Benji deadset looks a stone overweight and two yards slower.Farah went to the next level after last years origin ,hes all class woodsie is the form prop of the comp ,and i really believe Buchanan is playing well. Our back rowers are playing very average, barring fulton who has a dig every time he takes the field . we seen glimpses of good play in teddy , so thats a plus ,,sirro should be in the back row playing out wide hmmmm after a sleep , i can see a few positives, but we just need to sack a few of the park footballers and use the money wisely on some top liners who will then blend in with the good younsters we have coming through.im not going to give it to Potter ,he walked into the joint with the same coaching staff sheensie had employed and i think its time they were all moved on so Potter can pick his own guys and start steering the joint forward .2005 is a long long time ago

My concern is that assuming the coach has a say in recruitment, under potter, we have our 2 best players allegedly taking ip contracts eating up over 30% of the cap. Throw in must haves like teddy and woodsy on their expected market value, it gets closer to 50% and the cupboard starts to get a little bare when it comes to buying other key positional and depth players. This forces us to raid the bargain basement for players

I thought our full strength side was poor and that our young guys with all the hype around how good our juniors are would perform. But we don't have anything.
I see so many other clubs bring up there NYC players and they are really good. We can't do it. Tedesco, sirro, miller, so much hype with minimal output. WHY?
I really think farah and Marshall run the shop and want to do everything themselves. That's bad when benji doesn't even know what play he is going with and expects everyone to know after the split second decision is made.

I ask the question, even though we had a young side last night, I struggle to see what difference Lawrence, Ayshford, Anasta, Moltzen, Galloway, Tuquri, Bell would add to the team. They are simply swapping chairs.

It's attitude, structure and ego we need to change.

Okay, first thing. Potter is not the problem. I will defend our coach right from the top. As frustrating as things are right now, and it's easy to go looking for scapegoats for our struggles, but Potter is NOT the reason for our struggles. At full strength most experts had us finishing around 12th this season. I thought that was a fair reflection with a spot on the edge of the top 8 an outside chance. Put simply, we have two top shelf players. Farah and Marshall. And currently Marshall is out of sorts. Woods has been in better form that anyone but after that we've had nothing. Our next best player has probably been Buchanan. I never expected top form this year. This year was always down year as we rebuild from the loss of Ellis, Heghington and Ryan (all who were not replaced adequately).

There are simple reasons for our struggles. Injuries have torn us apart this season, yes. Beyond that though the rebuild is essentially the problem for us. Look at the average age of the team last night. I think it was around 22 before Benji returned. Look at the state cup squad, same thing, 22 years old. Basically our entire club's senior roster has an average of around 22\. That's so young! As it also stands, Tedesco and Sironen form part of our crucial spine. The club just isn't set up to be able to absorb the current injury toll. That's no one's fault. The club wanted to focus on youth development and they're entitled to do that.

What has disappointed me though has been the performance from the senior players. In particular Utai, Blair, Marshall and Lawrence. We expect better and deserve better. I don't know weather it's the pressure of having all this inexperience around but these guys are out of form and guilty of a lot of our worst football this season. That frustrates me no end because they're the leaders of the side even more so due to the inexperience around them. They need to be playing better football. The young can't be expected to carry the load.

From Potter's point of view this has thrown up like a sick sick kid. The above has been coupled with Potter trying to change a flawed defensive structure that many of these players had spent 4-8, some even 10 years playing under. It's basically all gone wrong the club this season.
