I don't have a problem with it …. Why not take your showpiece to a market you are trying to crack ?

Because you are never going to "crack" it. It is a total waste of a valuable event on the Rugby League calendar.

Yep, never have and never will. I have spent a lot of time in Victoria over the years and still do now. I can tell you that, on the whole, Victorians are NOT really interested in Rugby League. Sure the Storm have done alright to survive all this time, but they have had a lot of help from people in high places.

AFL is not just a sport to the Mexicans, it is a religion, and no matter how much the NRL try to promote our game in Vic, it's never going to take off they way they would like it to down there. AFL dominates in Victoria and nothing will ever come close to that. You only have to look at the crowds they pull each week, compared to NRL games, to see just how much.

It is not the greatest sporting ground in Australia for RL and that is a fact.
It is not as good for League as the SCG. and that's bad as well.

I figure when the SOO is NSW v VIC or QLD v VIC then they can have a game down there.

Otherwise they are just like the little boy that fell out of the wheelbarrow - they aren't in it!

If we were to throw the Melbourne Storm and the Rebels to the wolves just how long would they survive without the support from the NRL & the ARU, not very long at all yet the Melbourne Demons survive.
While other sporting entities are prepared to accept foreign codes the Southern Capital refuses to do so, they don't even fully accept the A-League as they are apparently a multi-cultural society yet only nominally take the World Game to their bosom, both A-League sides are bottom dwellers and it's a miracle that the Melbourne Heart are only kept alive by a cash injection by a Middle Eeastern owned entity that will swallow them totally very very soon.

Tony Mokbel owns the Melbourne Heart? Though he did help kick start Ultra Tune

If the Melbourne Storm won 6 premierships in a row (legit) ..no one down South would care but if North Melbourne beat GWS in China it would be a 20 page spread.
