Why does WT struggle with membership numbers?

i think the 3 home ground reason is a poor excuse, there are enough packages to accomodate everyone better suited to 1-2 home grounds. there are too many whingers at this club, i dont care what side of the faction theyve come from but it seems some people dont become members due to old grudges and why certain areas are being neglected or because our logo is not big enough. please, you either support the club or you dont. we still have a long way to go to have memebrships that are better priced, im not denying that they are quite expensive but i still think a lot of people need to pull their fingers out especially when a lot of people are more likely to be wasting money on other unnecessary indulgences. people still need to show support with some sort of membership, no ones saying you have to shell out the cash for pinnacle packages but something at least. the latest news that one day tigers games will be members only affairs is brilliant, how ive longed for this to happen. only have to look at the epl in uk for this.

Play 95% of games out of SFS and get 20 odd thousand members over night! that simple dump the suburban grounds and give the fans good seating/good viewing for your $$$ .I get GA at Liechardt and stand on the concorse.. season ticket holders are seated in front of me in the weather and basically at ground level ! and people wonder why other fans won't pay out hundreds of $$$ if the club went that way I would purchase 6 season tickets today.

that's what I thought coolcat - also I think I read we have over 10,000 members already for 2012??

Battle of The West update

1st: Eels with 1349
2nd: Dogs with 1226
3rd: Tigers with 1157
4th: Panthers with 1041

Its a number of factors but the main thing is we are made up of three lots of supporter groups

1–The people who will only go to Cambo, just not interested in the drive to the SFS or LO
2--The people who only go to LO for the same reasons as above
3- And the people who will go anywhere.

Our memberships only cater for group 3.

The other factor, the difference between buying a season ticket and buying as you go is really not enough to get many people to commit for a season. Miss one game and your done your savings.

Of course this is the price we pay for playing games at our local grounds. Both the Dogs and the Rabbits can sell memberships for chicken feed because they play out of ANZ. If we did the same we would pack our two local grounds but gain no revenue or very little. So we are caught in a hard place.

It also gets back to demand and supply and while we keep pulling great crowds, why are they going to start to cut back on the revenue.

From where I sit, I do not buy a membership to gain a savings, its just my little way of giving back to the club that gives me so much fun, but in saying that my kids are grown up and Iam not doing it as tuff as a lot of young people so I can see where people are coming from

Do they count both heads of the Eels and Bulldogs fans?
Seriously though- do they include pet memberships in these figures?

It's the in fighting between west and balmain and the fact we have three ground at the four corners of Sydney. We need to build anew ground around Casula. There is plenty of space. A train station already there. Just off the Hume hwy for both camps ( west and and balmain) to get too. Before anyone complains , it is almost half way to both. A purposes built new footy stadium there and ever west tiger fan would be there every week. I know we can't forget the past, but we do need to work towards the future of our west tigers club. Forget all this, what about west, what about balmain stuff. As a product. A new stadium with the dynamic play style we have we could be a really force as a club, as a team, and as a product where the extra financial benefits flow back to the team and supporters.

A purpose built stadium with a train station just off the Hume Highway…..don't we already have such a stadium? 20km is not going to make a difference, plus Campbelltown has the leagues club next to the ground. It can't get any better than that!

20km may not make the difference, but the 40kms in slow moving traffic either from LO or CSS. This way half the fans head south, half north east, less traffic for all.

Well I have finally taken the plunge with a membership (as my signature attests). Why haven't I bought a membership in the past?

1\. Having memberships is a bit of a culture thing. I haven't had one in the past and never felt the compulsion to get one.
2\. With a young family, it is hard for me to get to many games.
3\. If I do want to go to a game, I want to know what day it is on before I buy the ticket.
4\. Chances are that I could get a ticket before the game is sold out.
5\. I'm a tad parsimonious. Not sure how much value there is in a membership, especially if I happen to miss a few games.

This year is a bit of an experiment for me. I'm testing the water, so to speak. Hopefully this year will be the first of many as a Wests Tigers member.

I have been a member for years but this year am giving it away. I live and work no where near any of the three grounds. Friday and Monday games are almost impossible for me to get to. Saturday night games are hard for me to get to, so that means I generally only go to Sunday home games and we don't get many of them.

I do however go to alot of away games.

1) Because the CEO can not capture our heartland (MacArthur region) and does not care about that area.
2) Because many supporters wont join up because of the blatant bias towards the Balmain side of the joint venture.
3) Fans dont feel a part of the Wests Tigers Organisation as many people see it as 'Balmain' and they do not want to support Balmain, they want to support Wests Tigers.
4) Many fans are disgruntled with Sheens and will join when he is gone.

I agree Bug. 100%. Plus Leichhardt Oval is a dump. I can't stand the ground to be honest. You may also want to add they are too inconsistent throughout the year.

Very true Snake. One ground (SFS or ANZ).

I'd love to see that Coolcat. I never thought of Casula. Makes sense though.

My mum and sister have bought memberships for years. And for Christmas my wife bought me my first one. I see the comment if you miss just one game you are almost better buying at the gate. See how it goes. I wish it was a reserved seats but can't complain too much as it was a gift.

They offered me a seat high in the main stadium; comfortable, clear unobstructed view, dry in all weather as a part of my Pinnacle Membership. I turned it down flat!
I sit down at ground level behind the bench where you can see the steam rising from their heads on a cold winter's night and you can hear the puffing as they fly down the sideline. The players obstruct my view, I can't see the action when it is on the other side of the field, I get wet and really cold; and I would pay a million dollars for that any day!
Leichhardt Oval - the best place on earth.

Me and my mates got the 8 home game pack.4 LO and 4 sfs.

150 bucks is a bargain imo.

Im stoked.Feels good to be a member, like im contributing, and its a good deal, plus the gear as well.

Found out today that you cant get a fixed sfs seating + general entry LO or CSS package. Disappointing for some fans who want a mix of fixed seats and hill seating at suburban grounds.
