Why is James Roberts not getting early ball.

Why do we ALWAYS go left to Talau and Kepaoa, when we have Roberts and Nofo on the right?

Brooks can only pass one way

He seemed Ok when he passed left to right to put Liddle and Stefano away. Both passes looked perfect actually.

There were a couple of times today that Roberts was available in support and the player with the ball just looked for support on the wrong side. I don't know if that is bad luck or just not enough time playing together.

For those saying he is not getting ball due to us not being on the front foot is rubbish. We are now in week 4, and everytime we do make good yardage, we still go LEFT. You couldn't make this stuff up.

Our left side is the most threatening. LL Cool J looked great today.

I would love to see Roberts on the wing where he can get the ball in open space.

Doueihi is a half that likes to go into the line and engage the defence then use is footwork to create space of break tackles. That does not create the space that sees Roberts at his best. Brooks is also a run first half so tends to have a similar problem giving early ball to our outside backs. It was good to see Lucy get a bit of early ball today though.

We are playing really flat and bunched with next to no shape.

By the time we look to spread the ball the line speed of the better teams we’ve played is right on us. The outside backs have nowhere to go but run back inside poking for a hole.

The forwards need to lay a better platform and get a quicker play the ball and Liddle needs to get the ball away quicker. There’s way too much one-out stuff going on and the halves need to get the team playing with more depth. Play at speed, feed early ball, run more options and I think we’ll see the best of these quicker guys.

Brooks is still the 'dominant' playmaker between he and Doueihi.

Last year Benji ran the show and since he was predominantly on the right, Leilua and Nofoaluma saw more of the ball.

Now that it's Brooks, the ball is going down the left more.

I do think Roberts on the left and Leilua on the right makes more sense. Roberts running off Luciano would be dangerous and there's gonna be more opportunities for him to get early ball.

Alternatively Leilua can hit a hole better on the right and create more in less space.

I’m a big fan of madge, but would love to know if our obsession with going left is team strategy. It makes no sense. Nofa will be lucky to score half a dozen tries this year . And seriously how many 2 on 1s did we create and they don’t pass the ball. Drove me crazy today .

Agreed. He did get a lot of early ball today and just couldn't beat the first man 1 on 1.

He looked dangerous and was sniffing around looking for the ball, just looks a yard off, pace wise. Hasn't played a lot of footy in the last season or 2 so hopefully his timing comes back.

I will be having a bit on him to score 2 or more tries against the cowboys, he will explode when he gets his confidence back.
