Why isn't Moltzen our 7

At the start of the season, Sheens was quoted numerous times as saying we had the fastest halves combo in the NRL (moltzen and marshall). There was a lot of excitement brewing about their partnership. Moltzen and Marshall had obviously spent the entire pre season honing their skills together. Tedesco gets injured and all of a sudden, our 1st choice halfback is gone to another position and we are a shambles in the halves for yet another year with no stability whatsover. Does anybody else agree with me that we should have just stuck with them in the halves and just replaced tedesco with Ryan or Reddy or some junior etc…

he shouldn't have put moltzen in 1 unless he knew a suitable candidate for the no.7.. no.7, the most important position in every team get treated like crap in our team… that's the reason we've been losing so many games last few years and it seems it will haunt us in the future as well

agreed , reddy would have been my choice , if teddy was not injured and played a little poor he would have been given time , ready if he got the same would have taken the roll on nice , but no we just keep moving players around , ready is a good player and after a few weeks he would ahve been fine at the back

Because we now have Sironen.

How will we keep Moltzen, Tedesco, Marshall and Sironen? Someone will have to play out of position or on the bench.

Agreed bashir…..Sheens moved players all over the place due to one - ONE - injury

look if he moved moltzen to fullback and put someone else at 7 that would be ok.. but he has put lawrence, ayshford, humble and now sirro there. all because of one injury, he ruined our centres games as welll

NO ONE in our ENTIRE backline this year has played in one position except lote and utai.. ryan, moltzen, humble, lawrence, reddy and aysh have all covered different position.. MAINLY due to one injury

Both Utai and Reddy were injured at the time. Ryan and Lote were the only for wingers Sheens was happy to select.

I thought he should has persevered with Humble at half for a bit longer, but anyway, I don't mind where we have arrived with our 1, 6, 7 & 9.

I think Benji should have been at 7 and Moltzen at 6 all season.

Tedesco should have been replaced by another fullback.

Because he's useless at 7

What he said.

I disagree…he is actually our best option at #7...who else do we have?

Miller...not wanted and has shown little in the times he played NRL.
Humble....well....enough said....why wasnt he released before June 30?
Waters...next....
Benji never will be a #7 failed in 2009 and again in 2012...

and given Moltz will be around the next 3 years, Sheens may as well use him in this position....

No kicking game and not much in the way of organisational skills- he's not the type of player to lead a team around the field, that's why he's not a 7\. He's a running 5/8, and he's not as good as Benji in that regard either.

It seemed to me like he played pretty good a couple of times but is not a natural 7 for mine.

Of course we will probably never know this, but I really think that given the same opportunities of most other halfback experiments that Miller would have worked out.

After all he's a natural. That's about a season saved right there!

It's all too late now anyway. The constant chopping and changing of players has killed the hopes of this team for 2012.

neither is sirro… so in both cases, benji is the one doing the work of no.7.. that said, moltzen is a better option in halves with benji due to their combo, moltzen's speed/acceleration, experience and better ball playing skills (as i've seen thus far) make him better than sirro in the halves.

that said, miller is the one i would go for, with moltzen at FB.

Sirro is 4 games into his first grade career and you're comparing him with Moltzen??? Moltzen has Sirro covered for speed, but I've seen both players ball playing skills and Sirro wins that battle. Unfortunately Miller is no chance.
