It's hilarious ...we are asking the players about Madge ....how about we ask Madge about the players .....

We can never compete with the Roosters, Storm etc... by trying to copy what they do. We need an 'out of the box' approach. The Wests Tigers identity at its best has been 'no matter how many you score, we will score more'. Why not embrace this 100% and employ the Walker brothers. Madge's old school focus on defence has backfired... bring back the fun and entertainment. What the Walkers have achieved on a shoestring budget has been awesome. Imagine what they could do with our Salary Cap in a strong position and the Centre of Excellence. While we are at it we could employ Benji as the assistant coach to train up the young ones in entertaining footy. [We may even snag a new halfback:sunglasses: ]

What have they done lately. I know that had a terrific year, I think with Ipswich, but I've not heard much of them since. Are they still coaching in the Queensland equivalent of KOE?

NO they have given it away. Not coaching at any level.

I cannot believe this is even a topic.. No NRL club is going to give Walker brothers a go unless they were to maybe go over England and prove themselves first. Just too risky for me

I've heard that Kevin Clarke who used to coach the Tregear Foxes Under 11 2's in 1981 doesn't have a gig at the moment. Any chance we could start a thread on him too? Everyone else and their dog is being thrown up as a replacement for Madge.

Why not Ben Gardiner?

Cannot really comment on him one way or the other, though the club know at least as much about him as they do of others, so if he is worth a shot, why not.

They started a Business together, in the middle of nowhere and what do you know it went bad.

They built a bridge later. Awesome show. Move on.

Why?

While the Walker brothers seem to be good coaches. We still don't have the plan "this is what were doing wrong".
Melbourne with the rule changes had a plan "how can we exploit 6 again" they train and work too that plan.

Wests Tigers don't have that plan. Sure us forum commentators have a few ideas "Defense" "grit", hire this person instead of that. But we need to be honest, Manly came in with talks of being written off and they were in the top 4. They developed their people?

Why aren't people developing in the Wests Tigers?

Why isn't Brooks the SOO halfback? Because he wasn't developed correctly. Why isn't Nofo an expert under the high ball?

Now if I was to replace Madge, I would look to Shane Flanagan. He took Cronulla from nothing too the finals. I think Ricky Stuart did solidify their defense a fair bit but I would want a coach who knows "were at ground zero and here is what we do to go from Ground zero to finals".

The NRL is going to push us to be the second Brisbane team. We take the Walker brothers, well that may happen. Heck the walker brothers would know every DCE wannabe that did not get a start in Brizvegas.

Overall we need to be honest and identify the problem with the Wests Tigers. Why are other clubs able to develop players better then us?
