Teddy - you are always welcome back to us.
Please forgive the forum - the ones that are suffering today.
We are hurt because you are/will be a fullback that goes down in the history books as potentially one of the best.
That's why we are hurting - your talent is no longer with us.
What we could of been together.

But as a footballers life on the park is so short - you did what you had to do.
It just hurts -

“It is foolish to pretend that one is fully recovered from a disappointed passion. Such wounds always leave a scar.”

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

You've left a scar in all of us- & it will be difficult to close - especially when you are playing for NSW and Australia - it will always be a reminder to us - while you are not with us - because you born from us.
Something died today in all of us
Thanks for the memories James Tedesco :sign:

We offered him much more than his market value.. and much more than what Tony Abbott earns in a year…..if Teddy looked at the wider picture he would've stayed...

I don't blame Tedescoe at all…....I wish he would have stayed but a fottball career can be very short.....just look at what happened to Alex Mckinnon earlier this year. Teddy has already had a knee injury and ankle injuries, he has great talent but that does not always pan out. He is doing the right thing by himself and family.

But I do blame someone.........The Admin of the club. The last few years that area of signing players and so on has been abysmal........it has improved since Mayer came to the club, but realistically when we signed Tedescoe to a contract 3 years ago.........we should have had an option term on his contract for say an extra year or two.

Teddy was a nobody then....he only played 20 minutes in 2012\. How difficult would it have been to extend his contract or have had an option after 2014.....

It will be a pity to see him go.....easily the biggest talent we have had since benji in the 2005 days.

The only positive I see is we should never be a one player club anymore.....lets keep our promising juniors and build a strong squad that competes and wins games without relying on just "a benji" anymore.

But I'm dissappointed....can't hide that.

What memories? He is hardly ever on the field. I think it will be our rehab team who will be hurting - I've heard 2 of them will be laid off with Teddy leaving.

That's the point died pretty - he was hardly on the field and he turned our world upside down.
Can you recall anyone else with the same impact in the black, white & gold?

i think people are hurting because he strung the fans along for ages saying he wanted to stay, all that is good and well though if the money is right and it wasnt in comparison. surely he could of gotten a better deal next time around if he stuck by us.

knowing our luck he'll probably kill it canberra and never get another major injury again.

Incorrect. Over 4 years Abbott will make more than Teddy would have with the Tigers. Teddy still would have done alright with us though.

This. I remember a half back by the name of Scott Prince who did the same thing - fans came to hate him in the end. Was an absolute world beater in 2005 because of the right mix - something he never achieved again after leaving. .

For me.. it feels like watching Tim Brasher all over again.. only this time, he leaves before he actually becomes a real tiger..

he's only gone for 3 years. I think he'll come back to sydney after that. Fingers crossed it's the tigers that get him

He also never achieved it before he arrived here.
All he had was heartache and broken bones, and poor footy.

Teddy may end up like GI at Souths, or Thurston at NQ…BK at Manly
\
\
....or he might end up like Ben Barba at the Broncos, Benji at the blues etc

...its all a bit of a gamble, as we here generally know all too well

800k a year is nice….
but having respect... is so much better.

Money gets spent
Memories of glory are eternal.

If Teddy kicks on, he may come back to Sydney, but if we don't have the money to keep him now ( sorry I don't buy the opportunity bullshit he's trotting out ) and he keeps getting better, then it's highly unlikely we would be able to afford him once he's actually achieved something. I suspect Teddy could end up playing for a few clubs in the next 10 or so years.

Geez I can't believe we're comparing the salary of a 21 year footballer with the Australian PM and they're actually close!

Elite sports people will earn more than politicians.
And judging by what I saw in question time today … Rightfully so !!!
