Will Bellamy rest the big three in round 26

I think Bellamy will rob the fans of watching the Tigers v Storm at full strength. I am pretty certain he rested them in round 26 last year.

Depends if the minor premiership is on the line. By then the tiges should have it well and truely in the bag tho

They were 4 points clear going into rd 26 last year…..depends whats on the line I guess, who knows what happens in 14 weeks time

I did read he was going to rest them in a game around the origin period

I don't think so, if there is ANY chance we will play them in the finals he won't want to give us an edge going into them. Also I feel like it was a big part of their loss to the Warriors last year. Their key players went into the finals underdone. Also, they copped a drubbing from the Roosters that night, which shot the confidence of the younger players to pieces, and possibly had them thinking they needed the big 3 to win the competition.

Underdone??? They were at risk of fatigue/injury if they played, surely missing one game doesn't take u from one end of the extreme to the other!
After their big 3 playing 27 games before r26 (23 storm, 3qld, 1 aust) I hardly think missing a game meant they were underdone

Yeh hard to say it had an effect on their week 3 loss to NZ when they cruised thru week I against Knights…there was 3 weeks seperating the two

They sat out Round 26, then played against Newcastle in the semis and had a week off in the finals. They went into the grand final qualifier having played 1 game in the previous month. That is underdone. Add to that Cronk had just returned for that game from mid term injury (spent about a month on the sideline) it was the second or third game in about 2 months that Smith, Slater and Cronk had all played together. They looked pretty ordinary in their 1 v 8 semi against Newcastle as well. It was a poor decision, all they had to do was beat 8th at home the following week and they had a week off. I'm only an advocate of resting players if it means they will not miss a game later down the track. I don't think Slater or Smith were in any danger of missing a game in the finals.

this game is odds-on for ch 9 Friday night & to be sold out at Leichhardt

I wonder if the club is having thoughts of a grab for cash at the SFS .
