Will Bodene be resigned now that Taitarangi isn't coming.

Would Bodene be worth keeping for another year seeing BT isn't coming to us,he didn't have a bad year in 2014 .
Can be useful at times,he wouldn't cost us that much to keep him as he wants to stay a Tiger… :sign:

Heard the Raiders were interested and would be able to offer more Dollars….

Would like him to stay but only as a backrower...

The longer it carries on , the less chance I see a deal happening Had heard a while ago it was coming down to a TPA , but have heard nothing since

He is not the level of player that should be receiving third party payments. Those are hard to come by at WT and should be used to lure a much higher profile target.

If a 20 -30 k TPA helps get the deal over the line I have no issues who it is with as long as it is a NRL player

But Happy thats why we dont get anywhere and progress like other clubs. They are giving their elite players TPA's of $500,000\. Would we not be better to save ours and spend them in bulk on an Izzy type player rather than using the money in small pockets to resign a good but not exceptional first grader.

I don't disagree with your point, I just think we lack vision in terms of the bigger picture and getting the club to the next level. I like Bodene, but if the stand off is over such a small amount of money then we should make our final offer and let him make the call (which is likely what is happening).

One player won't win us a premiership

A strong squad across the board with a good mix of experience and youthful exuberance might

Look at Penrith

I was impressed by Bodene this year, he certainly has a go for 80 minutes, he weighs in at 107kg, and a new coaching team may well be able to put a bit of polish on his game. He's a keeper for mine.

There is no way on earth he weighs 107 kgs. I think you may find that a few weights were exaggerated or players weighted themselves in wet suits with weight belts this year.

I asked Blair his weight at the player night and it was 4 or 5 kgs less than his profile at the time.

Um, surely you realise the delay has been so that our coach and GM can make the call on whether we offer him another contract, and how much we can afford to offer him…

There probably wouldn't have been negotiations for some time. Same as Takaraingi and Naiqama there may have been preliminary discussions but Mayer even confirmed a couple of weeks back that the coach would be deciding whether or not to sign him.

I'm guessing the Takaraingi deal was way over valued by us which is why it was promptly dismissed as soon as professionals came in.

Bodene would be a bench player for the Raiders. Their back row is much stronger than ours. That was just a rumour created by a journo putting 2+2 together. Raiders have money to spend + Bodene is available = Raiders will throw cash at Bodene. :brick:

I realise that players do lose weight during the season, especially those who play long minutes but I can only go by his profile. Apart from the profile, none of us really know but although he isn't tall he has quite a solid build.

He's been improving as a back rower over the last couple of seasons and deserves another chance. Even if he isn't in the starting line up, this year proved that the club needs depth. He should never play in the centres again though.

I like Bodene his aggression and go forward …but I watched him closely attacking the line from 10 mts out and unfortunately on nearly ever occasion had no impact . I feel we could be better served looking for someone a lot bigger ,in that situation would bend the line a probable score, Souths have changed the game a team that will compete is a team of huge forwards .Players in Bodenes situation will now find themselves on the outer.

Bodene won't be with Wests Tigers in 2015

Could you please elaborate.

Ava told me he hasn't signed a contract but his staying..

Not sure why he would lie to me unless, something has changed in the last 5 days

Talk of FPN and talk of a South Sydney forward, if these rumors have legs I would imagine BT will be headed to another club. He was good for us this year, but at the top of his game he is only a run of the mill player, their no X factor to him
