Will teams ever go back to real jerseys?

Remember the ones with collars, not these rubblish t-shirt things they wear now?

Remember how fantastic and classy our Balmain alternate was in '05 the night we flogged the Doggies 50-2? Or the Magpies alternate we wore in the opening round against the Dragons? (can't remember the exact year). Those were great jerseys and even though the old Tigers and Magpies jerseys only had the v-neck with no collar, they were better than the monstrosities the teams wear these days.

Now it's all about being skintight so the players are hard to tackle, just like in the NFL.

No it will never go back to those great old-style jerseys….it suits the metrosexual direction the NRL is taking to have jerseys that look like nightclub outfits.
Before you know it the jerseys will include discreet pockets so that the players can store their diamond stud earrings and i-phones while out on the field. Maybe even a few little see-through areas on them as well so the new-age boys can display their "hard-man" tatts.
And just to complete the ensemble a built in mirror on the sleeve so that the majority can check their "Ryan Gosling" haircuts (as Watmough calls it) and make sure the masses of hair gel is still working it's magic.

I think pacey summed it up, it's about as likely as male swimmers wearing boardshorts at the next Olympics.

I wish.
Love the old school jerseys the most, so authentic.

The panthers striped jersery >

Funny how people always go on about how players these days seem more focused on how they look than they did in the past, yet when a change is based on performance (like jersey styles) people complain about that too.

I like the old school jerseys. Its all about what sells to the public. Some look crap, but sponsors also dictate what they should look like. Also skin tight makes it harder to tackle, not exactley flattering for say George Rose and others alike.
