The story makes no sense, says it is 5 year deal with Vegas, but then the quotes are used to claim otherwise.

I think what it should be saying is that there will still be Vegas games as per the contract, but just the same number of teams, and then other teams will play elsewhere like Japan and the Middle East over a Vegas expansion.

Simply put, PVL is just taking more games away from Australia and New Zealand, and starting to spread the game elsewhere while taking games away from the place that made the game. Whereas it should either be a preseason set of games, or an additional round so that those who pay for their season tickets are not left with less games to actually see without having to fork out even more to have to travel the world to see their teams. I know that the NFL are doing it, but the NRL isn't the biggest sport in the world like the NFL (based on team values in which more NFL teams rate highly than any other sport)

He's very clever. Nothing to do with the location. He will make sure that every media outlet and channel is talking about the NRL instead of any other code in Australia at the start of every Season. Nothing to do with growing the code overseas. We're in Vegas or some other unique spot having a mad sesh and the AFL is eating pies Adelaide.

The NRL salary cap is directly linked to the funding grants provided to clubs.
Broadcasting deal goes up, salary cap goes up, NRL grant goes up.
Everyone is on the same deal with regard paying players within their cap.
