The Wests Tigers have officially entered the race for Las Vegas next year, seemingly leaving the Dolphins and Gold Coast Titans locked in a south-east Queensland stoush for the final seat on the plane for the season opener.
Sources confirmed to Sport Confidential that the Tigers had informed the NRL that they wanted to be considered for the fourth edition of the Vegas extravaganza.
Parramatta and Melbourne are believed to be already locked in for Vegas after offering to take home games to Allegiant Stadium.
The remaining two spots are up for grabs but the Tigers’ decision to escalate their interest could be a sign that they have one foot on the plane.
That would leave the Dolphins and Titans locked in a battle for the fourth and final spot. Both clubs have made no secret of their desire to play in Vegas - the Titans had staff in Sin City this year to carry out reconnaissance in preparation for next year.
