It was people power that stopped him coming to WT a few years ago.

Rubbish. It was Steve Folkes telling management that Willie was an unsettling influence at a club.

I seem to recall the Humpty & the board taking notice of a section of the membership base against this, loudly voicing their disapproval.
Sheens was for it iirc.

I may well be wrong memory bad

Yep. The board got scared because of fan backlash.

Is he really worth it? He's a 34 year old prop, who is not even going that good where he's playing now - how well are Newcastle going? Honestly, our club is so desperate, it's embarrassing!

Flip I reckon the Knights are back on track now

They've had a huge season . I wonder how we would of coped under the same circumstances ??

I think it's obvious how well we'd have coped, we haven't handled our own circumstances at all! lol.

The Knights have been crap all season and are only now starting to play ok with 3 rounds left - and it's nothing to do with Mason. Ever since we didn't sign him a couple of seasons ago, he has been way overrated by many on here. Our props are heaps better.

No for me.
And this is a prime example of what should NOT be happening at the club - a player approaching management about recruitment. Robbie should be told - respectfully - that his job is to play and to captain the team. Period.
If he is asked his opinion about a player prospect, then fine. That's different.

I've supported Robbie over all the drama that has been within the club and its cool for him to mention Mason but the club should say no to Mason. We need young players and ideally wingers or centres.

I'm saying the same thing I said 2 years ago yes he is leaps and bounds ahead of Galloway at least he runs the ball up hard unlike that useless Galloway

That will be a done deal then what Robbie wants Robbie gets ..the only problem with that is being an old player it will be the Lote Syndrome as I like to call it get injured early and will not play again for around 2 seasons . The medical / fitness gurus at the club will see to that …then Willie leaves and plays one last season for the Bunnies and is injury free for the entire season.

So it seems to me that our club needs to do something about our strength and conditioning, and until they get that fixed we will not attract many "good" players :bash except the one's that would like to join our club to have a "rest" :deadhorse:

I think you will find it was a sponsor who stopped it , 3 letter sponsor I'm told it topped of the for and against to sign him and if the sponsor never got involved he would have been signed and cheap

Mason would be a good pickup…
If we planned to release Galloway.

Wouldn't be excited if this happened.
Massive douche.

Was a great decision going with razor Ray instead who played about 5 games.

Correct. He was responding to emails sent directly to him from members. Other factors also no doubt.

Gee some people are not for real .34 and we want to sign him . The horse bolted on big willie about 3 years ago .but come to think of it .he is the kind of player most people in here want .watch somebody post the side for next year with willie in it.
