Willie Mason [Discussion]

I can't believe they won't sign him…

Ok there a lot of people and fans out there that don't want him and have been vocal about this, but people move on looking at his wrap sheet it is not that bad...

Looks like the club is only look at the negatives

george rose??

Is Rose available at the moment though?

I heard a rumour a few days ago through a friend we were interested in rose, as he is currently playing nsw cup due to a lazy off season, but thats all I've heard at the moment.

Gibbs spits on a female cop and takes a swing at another while on the turps…. Named in the side and plays that week

Robert Lui gives his partner a caning, picked in the next possible game.

Todd Payten pisses on a War Memorial, defended to the hilt, named as the coach and mentor to our NYC squad.

Willie Mason pisses on a building, is a general loudmouth yob and the club wants to hear from fans? Give me a break.

If we are indeed not taking the option than please let it be a salary cap thing, even a sponsor thing. If it is based on what fans have complained about I have officially lost all faith in the front office.

You have to admit this whole saga has been played out really poorly.
After the fiasco with Moltzen , the unhappy departures of Gibbs and Fifita ,Brown (suddenly) and talk last year that Heighington , Fulton and Ryan were also told to look around we look like we haven't got a clue who we do or don't want.
Maybe Bug has been right all along.

Mate you are reacting to ill-informed media reports.

From what I've heard it has been handled
Very quickly, professionally and efficiently. Don't believe crap in the papers

Then our media manager needs a serious rocket because it's his job to stop us from looking like a rabble of amateur hour muppets in the press

edit - and on George Rose he was playing in the reserves game shown on Fox this week. I only saw bits of it but he was the size of a house and about as mobile as one too.

Looks like Mason is out but I wonder who else management is talking to, "We've made an enquiry about a number of players just to improve our front-row stock at this stage of the season," he said.

Gibbsy coming home 😛ray: 😛ray: 😛ray: 😛ray: 😛ray: 😛ray:

Just saw on news that any talks with mason are null.

The club will tell us whatever makes them come up smelling like roses Smeg

Then it will come down to Mason's word or the Humphrey's word and the club will be banking on our support

I was actually beginning to think it would be an exciting experiment bringing Mason to the Tigers But the worry about if something goes wrong was still hanging heavily

Correct me if I am wrong, but it has been the PAPERS saying stuff like "the Daliy Telegraph believes…." and "we understand that.....", but they have been unable to quote any one from either party, even an unnamed source.

Suddenly everyone gets all presumptuous about WT intentions from hearsay that the papers publish.

WT don't have to report anything if nothing has happened. They don't have to deny every rumour that is published too, otherwise they would be posting media releases every 5 minutes.

In saying that, that's not to say that they can't come out with a statement, but who knows where they stand at the moment as maybe they can't say anything yet.

All I'm arguing is that it is grossly unfair to label this saga as "a shambles" as you/we really don't know the facts.

My understanding is that a decision was made several days ago anyway, and that it was a simple two letter word.

Come Monday night the only information that will concern me are the 17 men on the paddock at CSS.

Hopefully this is resolved one way or another before that though

You never know maybe we have said "This is the final offer ,take it or leave It " and Mason has until X to make a decision

I would of thought signing him for a season with an option for a second season with performance based bonuses would of been the go myself

That way it is win /win for both the club and for Willie

Honestly have not seen any posts of yours in this thread MM.

Will double check for you what happened though and get back to you

Ok.

When I get a chance I will double check to see what happened. It may have been merged into one of the many topics, I am not sure

Couldn't have said it better. If only some people who Willie bash would acknowledge players of ours that have carried on like peanuts at times in the past. I guess its different when we do it.
