This is about as clear as the Hong Kong air quality atm - pea soup !

Crikeys..Im going there tomorrow for a weekls holiday!!Was so looking forward to the light show, but guess it may be totally invisible,a bit like Willie at the WTs!
We all know that Sheens does some really dumb things at times, particularly when it comes to reserves benches & occasionally recruitment, but to punt Lui for his behavioural issues only to replace him with Mason wld make WT(& especially Sheens) a laughing stock.
Surely he's too smart for that…

Lui twice got arrested for assaulting his girlfriend plus he wanted out. Masons last indiscretion was 4-5 years ago for pissing on a wall I think it's time the haters move on

Thanks Mrs Mason, but Its not about "hating" anybody, but simply what somebody thinks is best for WT..
Its about Masons indesputable track record of just about every club that he's been involved in in the past half decade going backwards in a hurry with him at the core, its about masons inability to stick it out anywhere of recent,& all of this gets back to the fundamental issue that his rapidly waning ability is dwarfed by his attitude & behaviour - he just cant deliver on the field anymore ,even in ESL ,French Rugby or wherever,& his influence on others is such a potential negative that of he's shown the door before the rot sets in …
The risk just isnt worth the rewards with Mason

He performed well for the cowboys and his stats were on par with any of our forwards. He didn't step out of line at the roosters or cowboys and it's a bit of a beat up to keep holding him responsible for actions from 5-6 years ago while completely disregarding his good behavior for the past 4 years or so

I think it's horrible to compare masons to Luis -I've never been a huge fan of mason either but he is an angel in comparison to Lui. Also if one player can ruin a culture then the culture sucked to begin with

With the way Smoking Gun keeps defending him, I get this feeling that he is in fact already signed with the Tigers and he is doing his best not to let on that he has. (Or I am hoping that this is what is happening)

This is so true,if Lui didn't get punted I would really have struggled to support the club with him in the team,I am glad he is gone, and I think Willie would aid our cause for another premiership.

I think he will probably be going to the Knights. His brother Rodney plays for them and he started his junior footy in Newcastle. All the snippets of info about his return have had him going to several clubs, but Newcastle seems to be the stronger buzz.

Either way, he may prove everyone wrong and have a blinder of a year, or prove them right and have a shocker, only time will tell. I am leaning towards the latter.

Mason's first preference is Wests Tigers, so unless Tinkler is offering some cash under the table and Wayne Bennett is now for the first time accepting Peanuts, he will go there I guess.

I couldn't help but feel in last night's trial (albeit it was just a glorified training run) that we are one prop short.

Agreed Helmesy. I hope Groat starts to step up because I just don't think he is up to first grade at the moment. BMM looks mighty chubby too, not sure how his season will be this year.

Mason would certainly be great to ensure we have the depth there.

Management knows that too. I think you have to be well short stacked to be talking to a troublesome player like mason.

I have to disagree BMM looked alot fitter than he did last year …..... I can see big Willie playing off the bench but after watching last night we have so many young quality players in he team already and all Timmy sheens needs is to have another player to choose from.....

Just keep in mind Robbie, Rowdy a Lote was not here lat night so what happens to everyone else????

I m starting to steer to the idea we don't need him. I was really keen for him to come to he tigers but do we really need him?

Yeah those backs & hooker were missing, but in terms of Props, who do we really have outside the main 4 of Galloway, Woods, Bell & Groat?

We really have BMM, Moors & Mosese. Not much when you need 4 fit props, week in, week out.

I think someone of Masons caliber could come in very handy in that depth. We have some amazing quality depth in our backs (almost too much!), but not in the forwards.

Thought Matt groat was solid last night! Was a bloody trial hard to really judge anyone's performance based on one trial match. He will be important to us this year

Normal props don;t develop at 18-21 years of age (Woods is a freak and will be one of the greats)
So another experienced prop will be important for us onfield with Groat & BMM still being very young and needing time to mature into their body and their game.
I hope we get Mason because I think Sheens and our culture will be able to control him. If Gibbs had come through somewhere like the dogs he may well have gone down the same road as mason. He didn't, and he didn;t.
