Willie mason ???

It depends on his role -

Straight and Hard - put him in the team for this week.

second phase play and ruck defense - give him a week.

Can't see him playing without a week of training with the squad. We don't even know how fit he really is at the moment.

1/ Do anything that will embarrass our great club and its sponsors

Happy, Mason's biggest crime in the last few seasons is that he was caught pissing against a wall after a night out.

Certainly nothing like, say, Lui, Gibbs or Payten levels of shame brought on the club now, is it?

Agreed Hybrid.

Bird, Carney and Lui have all had dramas too, but they're all signed at the moment because they can all still play. Mason gets chopped in England, chopped in French rugby, chopped by cowboys, chopped by roosters….. maybe this guy isn't the saviour you idiots are touting him to be? You guys would all know more about footy then me though.... and more then Steve Roach too.

Mason got chopped from the Roosters for taking a leak on a tree,(scape goat so Carney could stay),the Cowboys wanted to keep him but couldn't match the dollars from French rugby, his rugby side played him in the centres where he had no idea.
So don't let the facts interupt your hatred, anyhow you won't last around here carrying on like that.

I did not stick a time frame on his past actions Hybrid or Simon did I All I have asked is he doesn't embarrass the club Don't read too much into it
He is not a Saint and he would be the first to admit that

At first I was against the idea of Mason coming to the tigers. Since we have now got injuries and a lack of grunt up front I am prepared to give him a chance.

He may suprise us.

We have one of the most complicated systems in the game.

By the time he is cleared to play (if he signs) it would leave him zero time to learn anything we do.

Save him for Souffs

He has to get all of his aggression and hard running coached out of him before he plays, that will take a few weeks.

Mason would be good in that he'll be keen to impress as he wants another contract beyond 2012\. Regardless whether it's with the Tigers or not he will want to be noticed thus I think he'll put in. Use him off the bench for two 10 minute stints each half ???

He may be a clown but based on his size alone he is exactly what we need right now… I wonder if this thread counts towards the club's appraisal of fan reaction... Me thinks we need a poll

Well Willie it looks inevitable that you are coming to our club whether we like it or not

So can you please , please ,please not do the following things

1/ Do anything that will embarrass our great club and its sponsors

2/ Don't slag off our players and coach in the press when things don't go the way you plan Remember there is no I in team

3/ Stay the hell away from your twitter account or show some control when you are on it

Look Willie I 'll never be your biggest fan , but if you show up train hard and play hard and do the right thing by the club You will earn a lot of our respect Possibly even mine

Happy , you forgot to add
4/ Don't let Sheens turn your career around so you can get into the Blues squad and give us canetoads some curry

What's everyones view on Steve Roach's comment that Willie is only a second rower?

I respect his view but at Willie's age and size I thought he might be better suited to front row. He wouldn't be as fast as he once was and obviously we have better options in the back row and lack options in front row. He is definitely big enough for front row. Im sure if his switched on he could make big meters and get some second phrase play going through some offloads.

I wouldn't take much notice of what Blocker says. You've only gotta listen to him commentate to hear his knowledge. Its a no-brainer that he's a prop. He's played there for about the last 5 yrs of his career

Frontrowers ain't what they used to be in Roach's day.
You actually had to have scrummaging skill then.
Anybody can pack into a scrum now (and they do) without it making any difference.
They can call him a prop and play him anywhere they want - as long as he makes metres and does some tackling.
Special mention to Happy - Petero is shaking from old age - not fear
