I actually think the LAST thing we need is another big forward(regardless of masons credentials or lack thereof),as we already have one of the best packs & plenty of back-up
if anything happens to Benji, were totally lost for creative playmakers (particularlywithout Lui) & have some very specualtive backups at 6 & 7.Were gonna have Souths problem…giant forward pack, plenty of size &pace out wide, but no-one to set them up other than Benji.
Appreciate they dont grow on trees, but thats where we are vulnerable in 2012

we cant win the comp without Benji.
No team can replace their star.

Goose is exactly right we cant win the comp without benji but
Dragons cant without soward
Roosters cant without pearce
Knewcastle cant without mullen
Manly cant without foran
Warriors cant without maloney
Gold coast cant without prince, and soo on
Any team loses their playmaker and theit going to strugglee to win a game let alone the comp. On Mason i think he could be a valuable player if he comes cheap judging by his days at the cowboys

The Schoolies can't win WITH Prince…

And this mentality about us not being able to win without Benji has got to stop

One day in the future through either injury or retirement he won't be there and we will have to find a way to cope one way or the other

Very true - but unfortunately true playmakers are the most sought after and most highly paid players in the game - for this year we have nowhere near the money to attract a decent playmaker - we have signed a few young blokes with promise but who knows if they will make it - maybe we should have saved all our spare coin this year and made a massive offer to Cronk or DCE.

He is missing out on valuable Team training. You would think he would hurry up so he can start training with A team to get his bearings straight.

To be fair, Willie's stint at NQ saw him return to some of his former glory.

I would be surprised if he turns out to be another Jason Cayless. Like him or not (which I don't,) the guy can still play and would be a steal if he can deliver…

If Willie did sign with us they could be waiting for the NRL to ratify his contract. If there where third party deals involved the NRL (Schubert) signoff on the contracts. For us the keep under the cap we may need a small third party deal to get him here.

if we sign him he will thrive playing with the players we have at the club ,if i was him i would sign with the tigers as we have the best team of players and backup players out of all the clubs , go with the strength

Willie admitted in an article late last year when he raised the possibility of a return to the NRL that he felt he had turned the corner at the Cows and played some decent footy, in defense of Jason Cayless, the heirachy bought him knowing that he broke down at St. Helens & had their fingers crossed that he could too, like Cher 'Turn Back Time'.

With what the tele wrote about a class act like Marshall on the weekend wait til they get there hands on mason

sign him up , get him fit before origin comes knocking on tigers door , we could loose - big keith , woods , farrah , ayshford , lawrence , we dont have gibbs , payton , fifita to call on so he has the experience in all types of games . finals , grandfinals etc , jason cayless was broken before we signed him mason is not

Jason Cayless was never anything more than a speculative signing. Willie is still playing reasonably well and not injury plagued. That was the point I was trying to make Leroy.
