With Leilua and Nofoaluma in the team we will leak points. I don't believe there is room in this style of game to carry two poor defenders in the outside backs.

If you look at the best clubs, there defence is side line to side line, yet for some reason our wingers stand 15-20 metres in so when defending their opposite is already outside them. The rationale behind the old numbering up and staying on your winger was if a break was made or the ball went wide, the wingers cancelled each other out, the cover defenders had a shorter distance to cover and better chance stopping the play. The only reason I can see for this 15-20meteres in is to encourage an long pass and go for the intercept, a very low IQ and a lower percentage play. If there is another reason could some one explain it please.
We all heard Ennis say that the Tigers right side had 20 tries scored against it so far this season. Well you look deeper into it out of the 60 tackles made by Nofo so far this year he has missed 22 he has a 70% tackle efficiency has been attributed to 15 try causes and 14 line breaks by Fox Sports, and he is one of the first players picked each week. Tommys is almost identical.

He is an appalling defender. I swear to god people don't watch him but just get excited about the thought of signing someone.

Can we find who gave Nuffie the 4 year contract! this act is the epitome of the club its just not players that are mediocre it goes much further up than that .

Fan Boys mate Nuffie is a hack Mr negative scores a few lets in a few has a negative value for the team but was rewarded with a huge new contract.. Should be nowhere near the team you need players that have positive value not negative value .

Not defending Nofa or protecting him Im all for the best player to be picked every week but Issako comes from a losing team which he is part of with just as many weaknesses if not more. If the club is chasing him I hope his price tag reflects that or I would be steering well clear of him.

TBH, I know nothing of Isaako, is he fast, is he a reasonable defender, does he handle the high ball, can he catch a ball?
I’ll have to try and watch the Bronc’s today?
@hank37w said in [Wingers \- We clearly need a decent winger](/post/1369571) said:Talau's ball security is absolutely abysmal and although I only saw him lose the ball in a tackle due to poor ball security once last night, you can usually count on him to do it it 2 or 3 times a game and you know that whenever it happens it leads to a try in the next set.
As far as his wing play goes, he has shown time and time again that he is not a winger.
Not really his fault I guess if we are that light on for wingers and he is our best option, but unfortunately he has no speed and the fact that he is regularly man handled over the touch line, mostly because he just doesn't have a clue about wing play.
Once again this leads to a try in the next set and it's like you have second sight because you can see it happening before hand.
I won't even go into the problems of jamming in and counting numbers, but our wingers are hopeless at it and after all this time there is no solution in sight.
Maybe Noffo and Tommy should be centres because if they defended where they are now and there was a winger outside them maybe our edge defense problems would be resolved.

Serious question, we’ve invested in Nofa long-term so why can’t the club work with him to play another position. As much as he is a good finisher & good hitting it up from a kick, he is a massive liability in defence. Can he work as a centre or far-out idea a ball-running 5/8? He can pass, he can talk & could be an attacking threat in either position. Would his defence be ok in those possies with players either side of him???
