I just posted on another thread that I can’t believe we held on to Talau and Nofo in lieu of getting JAC.

And - we have Nofo for 4 more years.

Our management are idiots

Serious question, we’ve invested in Nofa long-term so why can’t the club work with him to play another position. As much as he is a good finisher & good hitting it up from a kick, he is a massive liability in defence. Can he work as a centre or far-out idea a ball-running 5/8? He can pass, he can talk & could be an attacking threat in either position. Would his defence be ok in those possies with players either side of him???

Please no. He has been trying to play one position for years and still can't. Would only confuse him further.

Year 1 into his 4 year deal, told to explore his options.

Lolllll, I love it but it'd never happen.

Haha. It won't happen. Noffa is very overrated.

Mansour was available and there was a massive backlash on here that we were talking to him. Apparently our juniors were better.

Yep.
I was told that Momirovski was our 4th best centre when I suggested we'd need him. (remembering he also did a good job on the wing)
We had TOO MANY outside backs according to many on the forum.

His 4 year deal starts next year. It was an extension. He’s here til 2025 unfortunately.

Thanks. I'll show it to my mum.

Talau is not a winger, don’t know why the coach insists on playing him there. He is a centre or 5/8, could maybe even transition into the back row, but a winger he is not.

Well, as the thread suggests, there is not much else to choose from.

The only other position I would consider playing Nofo is prop much like Sam Moa did for the Roosters.

That’s some lateral thinking right there.

In attack, no problems at all, but defence is an absolute disgrace. If you look at the best clubs, there defence is side line to side line, yet for some reason our wingers stand 15-20 metres in so when defending their opposite is already outside them. The rationale behind the old numbering up and staying on your winger was if a break was made or the ball went wide, the wingers cancelled each other out, the cover defenders had a shorter distance to cover and better chance stopping the play. The only reason I can see for this 15-20meteres in is to encourage an long pass and go for the intercept, a very low IQ and a lower percentage play. If there is another reason could some one explain it please.

We all heard Ennis say that the Tigers right side had 20 tries scored against it so far this season. Well you look deeper into it out of the 60 tackles made by Nofo so far this year he has missed 22 he has a 70% tackle efficiency has been attributed to 15 try causes and 14 line breaks by Fox Sports, and he is one of the first players picked each week. Tommys is almost identical.

Your edge defense is heavily reliant on strong defensive second rowers (and centre’s).Our second rowers do the fancy stuff much more readily than the hard stuff.

All Madge needs to do is tell his wingers that if they rush in even once, they'll be dropped to reserve grade the next game.

3 of the Warriors tries came directly from one of our wingers jamming in and for another 2, Talau was caught out of position and they just sailed past him. If Nofo and Talau stay marked against the winger, none of those tries are scored.

I have no idea if this is the coach making the wrong call or the players just have no idea, but even my wife (who hates watching sport) asked why they were rushing up last night.

Not true, if Talau stays on the edge marking the winger which he did during the play rts beat Joey they still score every time, the reason both Talau and nofa rushed out/went for intercepts was because we where outnumbered on the edges. 2 attackers and our winger. ( same situation both sides) for some reason our defence was strong in the middle but forgot to spread to the edges when they needed to

They did look unprofessional hoping the attacking player would pass to them and not one of their warriors teammates ?

Maybe consider putting BJ on the wing for a game just to see and find a centre. I'm not convinced TT is up to it?
