What is everyones favorite sports in the Winter Olympics???

I like watching the speed skating, ice hockey and luge/bobsled

Go the Jamaican bobsled team! COOL RUNNINGS

Most of the sports are interesting to watch, because:

1\. they are spectacular (eg mogals, aerials, speed skating, downhill, luge)
2\. there is a good chance of crashes (eg mogals, aerials, speed skating, downhill, luge)
3\. we are not overexposed to these sports so the winter olympics is the only time we see them

The only ones I can think of which are not interesting are the biathlon and curling (sorry Smeg).

Of course, they should make the winter olympics better by adding the best winter sport to the line up - rugby league!

Im loving it. Juro's got it pretty right, it's so good to watch because the sports are so different and so exciting. The way the athletes go down the moguls is ridiculous, and how someone can catapult themselves down an ice tunnel at 150km/h without being strapped into anything amazes me. The skill of all athletes in every sport is great to watch.

 I don't think Smeg was being serious, although you can't always tell with him.

What a joke. Everytime I turn my head to the right and back there is a bloody commercial on!!!

I enjoyed the most of it. Ch 9's coverage was appauling though. Is it just me or does everyone cringe when Eddie McGuire is on camera? He was a shocking host, in particular the interview with Dale Begg-Smith.

I also read an interesting article from a journalist who believes the sports which have to be decided by a judging panel shouldn't be included in the Olympics. The Olympic motto means "Faster, Higher, Stronger" … not Faster, Higher, Stronger, Most Pretty. I agree with him to some degree. Sports like Diving are only able to be decided via a judging panel, but the sports I was most annoyed with that had a judging element was the long ski jump. To me, it should be decided by which athlete jumps the longest. However there is also a style element to the score. I wouldnt care if the person is flapping their arms in the air like a duck, if they can jump the furthest, using whatever style, he/she should win. There's a bit of a double standard where sports like Luge have a certain style that allows the athlete to go faster, but theyre not judged on how they look while doing it, just whoever does it the fastest.

That's my 2 cents haha.

They wouldn't have snowboard then. I doubt they would get rid of that.

As I said, some sports need it … ie Diving in Summer games and Snowboard half-pipe in Winter where their style is the thing theyre competing against ... Sports where the goal is to jump the furthest, but look the prettiest, is what I'm getting at. I dont think they should can these sports, just ditch the "Style" factor. In the Summer games, there's no judging panel for the long jump, high jump or pole vault. It's simply whoever can jump the furthest or the highest.
