With it all said and done, how do you feel about Scott Prince?

He has to be a club legend the way he and the team clicked in 2005.

Sadly I thought he pretty much dogged it for us in 2006 after signing with the Titans.

Hoped for a dynasty around that time 😱pen_mouth: :deadhorse:

I actually thought he was one of our best in 2006\. Farah got the player of the year award but I thought Prince put in given the injuries around him. He played all 24 games.

I don't have him as a legend though.

Great player for us and we probably got him at his best. He was a key part of our grand final win.

Still he just upped and left and it never felt right to me.

Another made up excuse - "My wife wants to drive an ambulance" so I have to go back over the border to oblivion - hope she is still enjoying that experience- Yeah right!

The wife thing was pretty pathetic wasn't it.

It was pretty weak seeing him turn up to post match pressos in 06 ( when he could be bothered) with meathead personal security flanking him either side…. I recall one of these clowns dressed in designer denim bib n brace overalls with no shirt... Was hilarious

He made Benji the legend.

I agree with half your statement. Prince did help Benji to look good at times. Predominately 2005\. But Benji - Legend?

Surely you jest?

Yes, Benji had random flashes of attacking brilliance but far short of legend status.

I really like Prince. One of my favorite players. His combo with Benji was outstanding. Disapointing after 2005 but so was Whatuira, Richards leaving, Laffranchi leaving, Hodgo a little up and down etc..

Marshall made Fitzhenry, Lawrence, and even Farah the world beaters  , in just few minutes of magic he would won us the games again and again. The bad thing was that everyone was waiting for him to do his magic, and not trying anything on their own

I didn't have many ill feelings towards him even when he left. The Gold Coast made him their no 1 priority and they milked the appeal of him being able to go home for everything it was worth. It's hard when you have a partner who is homesick which his was from memory. I don't think it was as open and shut as him not wanting to being here, there were just factors we were incapable of controlling.

For mine, THE most significant thing that happened in 2005 that contributed to our GF win was making Scott Prince captain during the season. What ever transpired after season 2005 should not diminish his standing and reputation. He deserves to be acknowledged and respected.

Did what he thought was best for his family

No one should be judged when making those decisions

I was pissed at the time , but you get on with life

Can't question the bloke if he looked after the best interests of his family.
But the way he took off out the back door at the last minute and left our club in the lurch with no time to find a replacement was pretty low.
The 2005 premiership would not have happened without his significant input but the shifty way he departed leaves a bad taste.

Pretty hard to knock back an offer from a club that built you a house for free as part of an under the table agreement I guess. As someone previously stated…..glad he never won a premiership with the Titans.

Wests Tigers legends IMO would be Skando, Hodgo, O'Niell, Farah and Benji. Fulton, Gibbs close behind.
Hopefully Teddy, Brooks, Moses,Simona etc to follow.

I had a cousin of his working for me at the time and even his cousin thought he was staying at the WT's

And funnily enough I interviewed a young fella last week who's Mum's Uncle was former Magpie Brendan Tuuta

Without him we wouldn't have been in the position to have a crack at winning the comp, he is a wests tigers legend in my eyes.
