It was a great game, totally enjoyed it. The girls were very talented. Good defence/hits, great passing, hardly any errors and no wrestling which was a big plus.
In a way they could show the boys a thing or to i.e. how to play the game the way it was designed.

The good thing could possibly be that many things we want to trial in the NRL can be trialled in the WNRL first ….. :bulb:

A mate sent me a text that his partner’s niece was playing about 20 mins into the game. I started to watch and asked him which one. He replied, “The one with the long blonde hair”. That narrowed it down 😀

Then on Fox a commentator said that there was a player on each side, playing against one another, who were partners. For the week leading up they kept their distance.
Then, to paraphrase he said, “They just stuck to their tasks - head down, bums up.” 😀😀
What annoyed me was the commentators comparing the style of play for each of the girls to the male NRL players, until I started to see a lot of Paul Sironen in Apps.
Might be a winner this concept.

Seeing so many young girls in the crowd reminded me of televised Netball games… Can only be a good thing to help grow the game.
I think it should stay on its own in prime time... If it's a curtain raiser to the men's Origin very few people will see it... It would Ge swallowed up by the men's game.
It wouldn't be broadcast live I doubt, a replay after the men's game or some 1am timeslot

Studdon had to resign her job as it was all getting too much…. It would be tough on all of them with other commitments travelling interstate etc over a 6 week period

Ch 9 won't put their game live if they are played the same night
And on a 16 team comp , you'd have to think they would at least 15-20 years before they get enough depth player wise

It would be foolish of the NRL not to exploit the ready made market.

We have female touch judges in the NRL, why didn't we have 2 female touchies for this game at least?
A female referee would have been even better but I think they really missed an opportunity and they'll look back and realise that they should have made it an all women's affair.

If it was two guys kissing after a men's game I can't imagine the reaction would be the same. there would be comments like "his beard is rough" and John Laws would be fuming. And poor Frank Hyde and Laurie Nichols would be turning in their… (it is obvious why you guys love me)
