A player leading the Dally M's after 7 rounds getting hammered ?

wow.

Isn't democracy beautiful??

Indeed it is.

Gives us the opportunity to separate the deluded from the everyday individual.

Thanks to democracy we now know which category this Tunks fellow belongs to.

ive got no problem with hair, but its obviously taking his mind off the job when as a professional it shouldnt.

it reminds me a lot of austin last season before his chop: constantly getting it out of his eyes at dummy half that wasted time.

as tigermama said, just get it braided for games like a lot of ufc fighters do. problem solved. i did notice the guy pulling his hair in that tackle! ha ha… i thought only girls pulled hair!

but i cant see why he would cop criticism. i actually like to see him smiling on the field - note: not having a laugh after a loss like sunday though. also, pretty much every time he hits it up he gains another 5-7m every time he is tackled.

i really feel any negative comments aimed at him apart from appearing flippant after the loss are unwarranted and a bit cynical.

Not sure which way your post was aimed, first you agree with the critism then you critise the posters who agree with you.
No one is blaming Woods hair for any loss or wanting him to have to serve time in purgotory ( spelling probably wrong) but most young players need a wake up call from time to time
And I bet Daley woul have been glad to see Tunks give it around this time.
I don't think anything that's been said here is unwarranted or cynical, and I doubt that Woodsie would Be emotionally harmed by it

i was commenting on two different aspects GCT.

firstly, the hair thing which i dont think is a big deal if he just keeps it out of his face so he can do his job unrestricted. personally it would drive me mad having it in my face all the time and the head taping isnt working.

secondly, i was addressing the criticism a few have aimed at his performances. i think he has been unfairly judged by others who say things such as he is only the SOO prop because theres no one else, etc. or to that effect.

so i agree with the hair thing, disagree with criticism on his actual form…

Sorry, but Tunks is a thug and a knob!
He thinks that the living in th past is all there is!
Wake up Tunks your era is dead, time to move on. Look at the penalties given away by these so called hard men.
Ilike woodsys attitude it is refreshing to see that u don't need to be a thug to play front row anymore …....

Lol, Turnstyle.. Trying to get my son to have a haircut ,is like pulling teeth. What persuaded you to get it cut?

Sorry Turny,I couldn't help myself…...

lathami, yes your probably right, however in Tunks day that was the way the game was played, our game has always been played hard and yes I'm glad they are stamping out the thuggery,to many good players have been seriously hurt by cheap unwarranted shots.....

You can play hard ...but also fair....

Sounds fair enough to me.

I don't remember any one say that they want Woods to be a thug. What I was talking about the types of front rower who is prepared to take on the oppositions best and get on top of him, exactly what woods did to Burgess last year. You don't have to be a thug to be a hard front rower. If Woodsie is in Soo this year, my bet is that Thaiday will take it to him from the start( now there is a grub)

ATM, Woods is the best prop in NRL, based on the form this year he shall be the first prop selected for any representative game.
However, I selfishly consider WT interest first, so I would be more than happy that he is overlooked even for City vs Country game

I wouldn't say Woods is the best prop in the game just yet.

1\. Bromwhich
2\. Woods
3\. G Burgess
4\. Matulino

One could even make a case for Burgess and Matulino being better then Woodsy at this stage.

Either way he is a class front rower and the best in NSW by a long way !

I hate this focus on aggression and enforcers…...waste of time

In the modern game most of the blokes who have this wrap rarely play in teams that win much. (JWH prob the exception) Bird, Scott, Lussick play in sides that usally struggle. Where as Melbourne have used the likes of Bromwithch, Norrie, White and Manly had King and Kite.

Do your job, which is make metres, draw in defenders and get a quick PTB in attack. Woods does this every week. In defense the middle men have to chase from marker, close the space and control the speed of the ruck. Woods again, very effective. He is a very good prop. More Lazarus or Webcke than Harragon and Carroll.

He missed a shocker on the weekend, and it changed the game, everyone who has ever strapped on a boot has done that.[/quote
Goose, , you may not like aggression , but most teams without plentyof controlled aggression , will come second in most games( everything else being equal)

I know what you mean, but looking at it in a different way. Playing Soo usually makes better players out of those who play. Playing with better players and against top teams can bring out the best in some cases, and hopefully that experience makes them a better player for their club team. So we benefit too, but I would love him to be available for my SC Team

well, im almost 43 now and always knew this was my last hurrah as far as growing my hair goes. i have had the same short back and sides for the last 20 odd years and just wanted to do something different (for me). i always admitted it looks much better short, but just wanted a change for a while.

last wednesday i had a skype interview for a job in brisbane and i really really want it, so i shaved off my beatnick goatee (mo and beard not joined) and went to a (professional looking) short back and sides hairstyle again because i wanted to give the best possible impression and myself the best chance of getting it.

besides looking WAY better now, it even made me really feel the part for the job i am hoping for.
