I'd like to see his numbers 2016 vs 2014-15 averages… I'd be stunned if they were not significantly down

According to https://www.totalfootystats.com.au/

2016: 162m per game (not including yesterday)
2015: 155m
2014: 130m

There you go…certainly a case of perception not equal to reality in this case...

I'm not enjoying this humble pie...but will eat it....

Woodsy I'm sorry!

All good bro #2040

37% of ball in first half locks a fair bit of juice out of the tank. He needs more support, we are lacking a forward or two as discussed. Easy for teams to number up on him. He will be a good captain, patience people.

Read a post somewhere on here from some one who had a conversation with Woods -
Said that it came across that Wood did not overly care for the team and it is just a job to him.

Take from that what you will, could be BS…..
Woods imo seems happy and knows the team is on the up.

That post was from me. I didnt have the conversation but a mate did. Woods made it clear he didnt rate the Tigers squad but that it was just a job. He wasnt fazed. He was critical of certain players.

If you believe that, you would believe anything.

I can just imagine any player, let alone a captain, bagging his teammates to a complete stranger.

I think not.

:roll

If it was up to me though, Woods would not be captain.
I'd have Chris Lawrence (a true legend) or Mitch Moses (he'll lead us to a GF someday, great talker and a real leader on the field)

I wouldn't have Moses captain. Him and his mates get kicked out of the Argyle every week. But then again he is only 22.

My mates the manager there and they're always causing trouble.

As stated earlier a few weeks for Elias as capt at end of year could be a test on the field and responsibility off the field. Surely would have Robbie guiding him.

His numbers and impact are nowhere what they were in 2014 and 2015

Why???

Captaincy impact?
Complacent?

Our forward pack is also better balanced, with Grant, Seumanufagai, Sue, Lawrence and Lovett all sharing the workload more equally. Just means Woodsy no longer has to play like Paul Gallen and make 20 hitups per game.

Well I spoke to Coda and he reckons he likes liver-flavoured Smacko's and getting his belly rubbed…..and so does Woodsy.

My mates who manage the Argyle says the boys were standing on top of cabs; never leaving when asked to leave (every week) amongst other things. But hey they're only 22 I guess and perhaps they're under more spotlight.

are you implying that they are literally and figuratively full of themselves. A bit of Warney in him which also held Warney back from being capt but was excellent at the job when given the chance.

I was just implying they are still kids. Trying to pull these foreign girls at the Argyle when the girls have no idea who they are. Thank God I haven't been there in a while. But mate sees them all the time cause of his work.

Not a complete stranger. My mate knows Woods quite well. I believe it. My mate has no reason to lie and isn't one to spin rubbish.

southern not dating your mates conversation.

However Woods is a larikin. He comes out and bags Robbie and people that dont know know him to well might think he is serious.

Probably couldnt lie straight in bed.

Personally i would take it with a grain of salt.

Personally it seems as though the captaincy doesn't sit overly well with Woods, possibility due to the circumstances with Farah still being around. I'd have gone with Rowdy myself but with his contract up in the air and possibly moving on if he didn't restructure he may have been. Next season I'd like Rowdy to take it on and let Woods just be a tearaway maybe with the VC or co captaincy.

I very much doubt either Ben or John Elias will get a run in FG this season, let alone get the captaincy.

funny no that I have woken up to it, being under a lot of pressure all day recently so funny things happen. Meant young Mitch Moses of course. If John was on the field at least other teams would not get away with roughening up Mitch every weekend.
