will the Aussie games still be on Nine?

I think they will just air it love from an English Channel rather than send their own crew and commentators

At first i thought Vossy was going to commentate for Seven but then i did some research and saw this.

Seven to cover all 28 games of 2013 Rugby League World Cup on digital channel 7mate

YES, yes, yes, yes, yes … you won't be hearing Channel Nine's Phil Gould calling the games at the Rugby League World Cup.

Channel Seven on Wednesday confirmed they will cover all 28 World Cup rugby league games on digital channel, 7mate.

**Seven will host matches from its Sydney studio but take English commentary from the BBC.**

It will be the first time Seven has covered rugby league for 21 years.

Seven has a rich history telecasting rugby league, broadcasting NSWRL games – with legendary Rex Mossop as chief caller - between 1971 and 1981.

The network also covered the 1992 World Cup in England.

**Former Fox Sports presenter Ryan Phelan will anchor the Australian coverage with guest experts Matt King, Nathan Fien and Nigel Vagana\
\
King will analyse Australian games, Fien will cover New Zealand matches, while Vagana will assist with Pacific Island Tests.**

The tournament culminates with the World Cup final from Old Trafford at 1am AEDT on Sunday, December 1.

A 30-minute pre-game show will precede every game.

Seven’s head of sport, Saul Shtein, said: "We’re delighted to be broadcasting rugby league at such a significant global event when the best players in the world get a chance to represent their country.

"It only serves to underline Seven’s commitment to covering the best sports, live and free."

Rugby League International Federation chairman Scott Carter added: "With the quality of players across the 14 nations, the 2013 Rugby League World Cup is set to be a fantastic tournament, watched by millions of people around the world.

The Kangaroos finalise their Rugby League World Cup preparations with a gruelling final training session at Kogarah as they search for World Cup redemption.
Italy and the US will take part in the World Cup for the first time.

"Fifty years since the Kangaroos first won an Ashes series in the UK, Tim Sheens and the team are determined to win back the World Cup from New Zealand," said NRL head of football, Todd Greenberg.

"Seven has made a major commitment to keeping fans in touch with all the action and there will certainly be plenty of highlights over the course of the event."

Can't find 7mate on foxtel, any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Think it's 207 on foxtel

I don't have a channel 207 on my fox box. Is 7TWO the same as 7mate? Any help would be appreciated.

Sevens coverage would have to be better than Channel 9's egotistical dribble. Then again , listening to Eddie Hemmings and Stevo's unbelievably one-eyed calling of the Pommy matches will be painful.

Can't wait for the day when 9 lose the rights to the NRL, hopefully Channel 10 get it and bring back Ian Maurice and Graeme Hughes.

I believe they're different. Sounds like you've got a similar set-up to me. I get one of the digital channels for each of the FTA channels. You'll need to go off Foxtel and get it on your TV,

The 200 series channels on Foxtel I think are the HD channels so, if like me, you don't have HD channels you won't get 7 Mate. Same with GEM for 9\. I think you get GO on the normal Foxtel channels (the 100 series) but for GEM you need the HD package or you need to get it on your TV.

Has nothing to do with hd channels. Has to do with cable/satellite. Cable gets 7mate, gem and one, satellite doesn't.

Well there you go… Anyway the bottom line is Satellite Fox customers will need to go old school and go to 73 on their digital TV channels.

Cheers for clearing that up fellas. Bummer was hoping to be able to record them on IQ and spent summer watching the games to get my footy fix.
