Worst Ever WT’s Side

Nick Graham is the worst player in WT history.

And that is saying something

Graham signed with us then asked for a release to Brisbane like a week later, I saw him at the races in the pre season and he told me this to my face. Why we didn’t let him go is beyond me. He never wanted to be here and then we barely played him and when we did it was on an edge which he wasn’t suited for.

Smart move considering what happened the year after he left.

Im assuming they still paid him?

They shouldn’t have based on his performance

Guessing so. We were in a line for drinks and I said ‘looking forward to the season with the tigers?’ And he said something like ‘no, I’m trying to go to Brisbane but they won’t let me, I hate it, it’s a boys club and I’m not in the club’

Well they won the premiership the next year

Scot Sattler also walked away from a premiership. One of his knees was gone though, so doesn’t reflect quite as badly on him.

I doubt we win 05 if sattler or Graham are in the side. They’d hold out a Halatau, Fulton, heighno etc and all 3 were vital to our style of play.

Graham only played 10 (bad) games in 2004… he wouldn’t have got a look in for 2005…

I note he ended up retiring at the end of that season… so I assume the Broncos took a look at his play during 04 and didn’t want him anymore

Pretty hard to argue with logic.
Mind you, results tell one thing; individual players' talents are another story.

Any analysis must look at the quality of the cattle, and especially in the halves, ie the rudder of any team.
TO, imho results tell you all you need to know in this game( and many others).

There’s been previous versions of this post.

Keith Eshman, Nick Bradley… The 2001-2003 sides have a stack of “talent” for this type of lineup.

Underperforming players like Josh Reynolds, Ballin or even Braith were disappointing or just busted. The true poor players, if you want to use the term for guys who made first grade are your Glen Air and Action Jackson Kaufusi types. And now I need to take a shower…
