We were talking at work who we thought was the worst player to play SOO football

Surprisingly for some I am choosing a Qlder Adrian Brunker When I saw we had picked him I thought the Qld selectors were backing NSW for some easy cash and he certainly did back up my reservations in my opinion

Anyone like to add a name ???

YES YES YES

definately one of the biggest skirts to play the game in recent memory. Mark Hughes from the Knights was another extremly average player who played for the Blues. And dare is say it, Braith Anasta?

I also thought Mark Hughes was lucky to make the team especially considering he wasn't even a regular fullback at Newcastle with Robbie O' there.
A few names I can think of from recent years.

Justin Poore
Steve Turner
James McManus (Helped by Joey's love for him), annnnd
Ryan O'Hara

I can think of a few Queensland players who were lucky early last decade, John Doyle and John Buttigeig come to mind. There's probably a few from the Super League era as well.

I've always thought Brett Kite is massively overated to have played as many SOO games as he has

Adding to my previous post
This bad rap should go to the selectors. Steve Turner is not that bad a player on his day but to put him up against Inglis was absolute suicide. It made Turner look like crap.

 good thread happy, ive had this discussion with my mates a number of times. in recent times the names that always come up are james mcmanus and steve turner. mcmanus was only there because joey pushed for him and turner was only there because bellamy was coach. definitely agree with jason king too, skando would have been much more deserving of an origin jersey than him

My mates and I love picking worst ever teams. Worse nsw player ever IMO is Paul Field from Cootamundra, second rower, think it was the year he made country as well. For QLD, there was a heap of bums in 95, they played out of their skins, I'm trying to recall the name, but one player selected that year from the crushers never made 10 first grade games

Spot on Happy… When I saw this thread title, my first thought was Adrian Brunker. His selection was terrible as the Qld Selectors could've easily gone with 2 older blokes like Alan McIndoe or Brett Plowman to fill the spot that where still more than capable.

For NSW, picking Jason Taylor on the bench ahead of Greg Alexander or even Mitch Healey was quite strange...

Maybe you should be bagging Harragon ,Fittler ,Johns ,Menzies ,Toovey ,Carroll ,Hill etc for not being able to beat that team

Craig Teevan is a legend up here… Not many could skull a jug of XXXX as fast as him!

As for Goddard, well he made that peanut from Newcastle look like a dill
