Worst player to play Origin football

Tim Mannah would definately be one of the most over-rated players to play Origin recently. Not being bias, but if he is a better player than sauce then im a shocking judge

Michael 'the menace' Ennis. Dead set, NSW could have won game III, 2010 however he decided to punch on with Myles which cost NSW the game in my opinion.

From that gawd awful 95 QLD team Teevan, Brunker, and John Doyle.

In more recent times,

Brent Kite, Mcmanus, Danny Nutley and David Stagg.

Just when I thought that Brent Kite was the most over rated front rower to play origin, in comes Matthew White. The guy i sthe biggest cream puff if I ever saw one.

Whoever said Jason King you stole mine :frowning:

Ill go wif Chris Walker then, even tho he wasnt too bad.

Craig Teevan is a legend up here… Not many could skull a jug of XXXX as fast as him!

As for Goddard, well he made that peanut from Newcastle look like a dill

Jamie Goddard became my hero the day he snotted Johns.

it wasn't Brunker (92-93) in that team… Maybe you are thinking Brett Dallas?

Jamie was a funny bloke off the field… he was similar to Fults/Gibbs and always loved a beer. This one night, he did a Tom Cruise and sang a song to this hottie at the bar. She told him off and left

Dallas was in the '95 team.

Anthony quinn or was it Steve Turner when bellamy was coach. That selection was undeserved.

And vautin. I absolutly loathe him

I think thats a bit harsh considering he played 22 Origins, 2 as Captain and made 17 apprearances for Australia.

This is a 'Worst' player thread, not a player you didnt like!

Michael Devere? He was by no means the worst, but there were blokes better than him during his era. Not a bad goal kicker.

It was disgraceful what Bellamy did picking his Melbourne boys in the side while he was coach. The side should be picked out of the best players the state has to offer, not members of the coaches boys club.

I've mixed my years up I apologize… it was brunker, but wrong year i've quoted.

I didn't mind Brett Dallas - thought he was a bit of a one trick pony (FAST) - however MAN he was fast, and knew how to finish off a move - A bit like a (very) white version of Nathan Merritt, except Dallas didn't disappear in games.

Having said that if Nathan Merritt makes the origin team this year, he will replace everyone on my list.

"Test match" Mario Fenech. Ok maybe there are worse but for a key position he was really shown up. No wonder we got smashed that year… Other nominations for me from NSW:

Eric Grothe Jr - struggles to stay in first grade
Terry Matterson
Matt Adamson
David Hall
Greg Florimo

It's only my background as a Balmain fan that stops me questioning how David Brooks made a SOO team. Great player but origin level?

I'd have to think some more on Queensland...

You guys aren't trying there is heaps of blokes that were barely first grade standard that got a run, some were not even first grade standard. Phil Dukes, Rex Wright, Paul Field, Grahem Lyons to name a few.

Yoss Terry Matterson Your kidding aren't you In that era I probably only rate Clyde ,Lindner and Mackay as better locks And Clyde and Lindner could play Lindner imo was enormous at SOO level

Come on Happy! He was solid rather than origin class! But we'll have to agree to disagree. Maybe I am being a bit harsh - he certainly isn't the worst…
