Newcastle in 2016 won 1 game all year.... couldn’t imagine who it was against though

that was the game where Sims scored some dud of a fluke try....off a cruddy grubber or something?

I remember blowing up about that. There was two balls on the field, Sims booted one at Tedesco which made him drop the footy that was in play and knights picked it up and scored. Video ref said sims didn’t mean to do it when he clearly looked at the footy and kicked it ?

Between that decision and the scrum not being repacked in 2010 semi final against the roosters, I swear all the bad thing happen to us

Pick most Western Suburbs teams of the 1990s. 1999 team takes the cake

It was only the late 90's - the early 90's with Ryan as coach they made the semis a couple of times and won the club championship. Again when Raudonikis took over in the mid 90's they again made the semis. it was when Super League came in that they were decimated and never recovered.

When you look at the sides that stayed loyal to the ARL at that stage ...many are financially struggling still today ..bar the Rorters / Souths ...and they are propped up by outside bank accounts

Every Slimey's team from 1947 - 2020

Utterly deplorable

Don't know if people are aware that Parra collected 9 wooden spoons in their first 15 seasons. I know it's tough to get a new team into a comp, but it included a run of 6 consecutive wooden spoons from 1956 to 1961.

Let us all be honest however that Parramatta from 1981-1986 were a special team with many excellent and respectable footballers.

Yeah it would have been a 17 000 000 dollar side under the current cap though lol

You could create a 17 with the terrible players weve had in the 2010s; the Schirnaks, Lovett, Humble, Kurtis Rowe, Shaun Spence etc..

Wests made the top 5 in 1991, 1992 and top 8 in 1996, we would love to have that record now

I think the Mighty Magpies may have won the Club C'ship in 1991 @851, as well as the great effort of being in the top 5.

They won the U/21 President Cup in 1992 as well as first grade making the top 5

Or you can just do a 1989 Raiders, break the new salary cap and then be wrapped on the wrist by the NSWRL with a wet lettuce leaf.

What about 1994-2003?

Hayes Lauder, Chris Paterson, Michael Gillett, Glen Air, Ben Black, Mark O'Halloran, Alf Duncan, Owen Craigie, Hopoate, Justin Doyle, Lee Murphy, Hassan Saleh, Ahmad Bajouri, Nick Bradley-Qalilawawawawa, Adam Tippet, Luke Milton, Nick Graham, Ben Reynolds, Wade Rothery, Shane Dunley, Balin Cupples, Keith Eshman, Adam Starr, Hudson Smith, Michael Brown etc. etc.

That was actually Jordan Rankin that was distracted by that second ball. Ripped off again.

As long as we win a premiership ...I don't care ...I can ignore the asterisk in the sporting records .....

Nick Graham was an early example of us signing a player 2 or 3 years past his best. He was a damn good footballer in the 90’s.

Jason Cayless is one of those players that it’s hard to believe he played for us. Only 3 games, but still. He was so good, better than his brother imo. He wasn’t over the hill when he got here. Was only 30. But he got injured and never played again. Boil on his balls (not kidding)

I imagine he had to give up a few things because of that injury

The 1999 North Queensland Cowboys easily take the cake for worst side.

Despite big bucks from Superleague, almost the entire state of Queensland to pick talent from and a decent roster, they only just escaped the wooden spoon.

Tim Sheens was coach at the time and years of inept performances came close to sending him off to Nurse Ratched.

Why did you stop playing football dad.
Well son I couldn’t handle the squirrel grips anymore

Loved watching those 1956-61 years. Would love to see the Eels get back to that form again.
