Worst Wests Tigers Side ever!

I remember when Tedesco signed with the Raiders, there were some sulking so badly they claimed Kurtis Rowe would be a better player anyway. I kid you not.

Holy crap that would be close to the money.

I have to say I am surprised to see the lack of Nathan 'Renouf' Milone in any of these sides..

For certain. John Simon wasn't too bad though, swap him for Bwaaaiith. Steve Crouch also was OK, swap him for Tandy or Cayless on the bench.

Still better than most of our forwards
H was a perfect example of a coach getting a player he wanted ,then killing him by trying to make him something he never was suited to

Sheens got Blair for 1 season then he played 2 under Potter so both Coaches killed him…?

FWIW I thought Blair was decent for us in 2014 but still ranks in the Top10 worst recruitment category...

Yeah, you are right about 2014.

The problem with Blair I think is that Melbourne got great mileage out of him, but he was playing in a team with a competition-winning representative spine, plus outside backs like Inglis and Folau.

I don't think Blair can be as good as he was in those early seasons without a better team behind him.

At Tigers he played alright but people were judging him by his Melbourne reputation. They wanted mega yards and offloads and dominating tackles, and he really isn't that kind of player. He was signed as a pillar of our forward pack when actually he's more of a support player, like Marty Taupau, and in that respect his signing was an error of judgement. Better to pick up a true workhorse (e.g. a Josh Jackson) or a proper metre-eater (e.g. a Klemmer) if you are going to flash your cash in the forwards market.

At Broncos he's in a much more balanced and experienced/representative pack than ours: last game they ran out McGuire (Origin), McCullough, Blair, Thaiday (Australia), Gillett (Australia), Parker (Australia), with Alex Glenn (NZ) on the bench. Even still I think his output is ok without being great; he's still fairly ill-disciplined for mine and his tackling can be quite reckless at times. He's found something of his niche in Brisbane, but I don't think he's playing great, nothing like his achievements at Melbourne, just ok in what is a better team than the Tigers have/had.

Kiwis only dumped Blair in 2013, he's played for them every other season. He's a decent footballer that we signed to be our next superstar, and he isn't that bloke. So it was a bad signing for that reason, not that he's a hopeless player.

This is my most dissapointing Tigers side. Not neccesaraly the worst ever to lace on a boot, some of them are quite talented, but these are the ones who fell well short of my expectations. It's a little harsh having sex offenders and wife beaters in the same list as blokes whose only crime was having a go and not quite making the cut, but nonetheless these are the players that should have been but weren't.

Every one of them looked the goods on the team sheet, some have done well elsewhere, none amounted to much in our colours.

Nathan Milone doesn't really deserve to be on this list as he performed as well as I expected. I hope he's not keeping the number 4 spot warm for Idris.

Joel Edwards may make this side yet.

I've gone with 'Ice Skates' McDonnell at fullback with Hoeter going to the wing to make way for Milone. Sean Meaney comes into the halves, Cayless comes in at Prop with Anasta getting the captaincy at Second Row.
The bench remains the same…plenty of impact.

Sean Meaney was a pro second grader who filled in when needed. I think it's unfair to lump him in the worst first team ever when he wasn't a seasoned first grader to start with.

I think you mean Jason Cayless, but he was just busted when he came to us. Matt Groat and Jack Buchanan deserve a run ahead of him.

Jason Cayless was close to, if not, the best prop in the world when he was with Easts. Such a shame he came back so busted.

Yeah i definitely mean Jason. Granted he was one of my favourite props before heading to England, we got him at the wrong time and he was totally useless so he makes my team.

Got to agree with Anasta as Captain. I thought he was a hoax before he came to us and when we signed him I couldn't believe it. I remember looking at his stats at one point through his last season and they were appalling, he had tackle counts of 5 with missed tackles of 4 and his error count was higher than his run metres!! Couldn't stand him then and can't listen to him now.

I think Moltzen has also been an absolute waste of space in Tigers colours. His earliest years showed some "potential" but produced less than nothing. Some of his displays at fullback were horrible to watch. When he signed with the Dragons my friends who support them were in tears only to get the last laugh.

I remember back when he first started, saying to myself, "Why can't we get any good players like him?" Unfortunately, my wish came true a decade too late.

Hoppa played great for us for the most part IMO, shame he had the brain explosion.
Nick Graham and Sam Harris were the 2 biggest disappoints for me, they really looked they had to potential to be matchwinners. And Willie Manu never reached his potential, thought he was gonna be a Test player.
Blake Lazarus would make the list, sheesh he was hailed as a champion by many in the club and signed to some decent-sized contracts from memory, but was basically useless. Injury wasn't kind to him though.
