long and short answer no.
Wouldn't take him for free.. He's a fraud of almost Mal Meninga like proportions.
He's walking away from a mess he contributed greatly to at Newcastle - wiping his hands of it, and playing the Martyr to absolute perfection.
Over-hyped, and for years had the luxury of quality players at his disposal - He was found out at the Knights.

He quit the Knights partially because the NRL ownership model was annoying him on a communication level so I doubt he'd go to another club with the same structure. Unlikely bordering on never gonna happen.

Bennett is the last person we need, we need a person who is basically under 40 and values attack as much as defense.
We have some rough diamonds that need a polish and we have some old bits of clay that need to be taken to the garbage.
One thing is for certain its a team game and if you dont have team work you going to get lapped

Bennett is after as much coin as he can get, to look after his kids who will need care for life.
he has little time remaining coaching, given we are paying Potter peanuts now…Bennett would be the last bloke to choose to come here....not many would

We are a Sydney club. Bennett will never ever coach a club that requires living in Syndey, So no.

While I have respect for him, Bennett will not win a premiership again. He's never been in a position of leaving a club in a worst state than before he arrived, but now with Newcastle he has this next to his name. Many people know that to win titles you need the players, which he was good at sourcing. People at the Broncos that carry weight will also tell you, for the talent that he had at his disposal, he under achieved in his time there. With what we have, Bennett won't fit in.

the threat of possibly having that grub Boyd playing for us is enough to rule out Bennett from having any association with our club

Usually a good coach attracts good talent and marquee players. For us, I have a feeling at least a couple of top notch coaches will be licking their lips to work with us considering the talent we have.
Whether they would actually be happy to get paid half the amount they could get elsewhere is another story.
I sometimes feel like we've used up potter and it might be the best for potter and us to part ways. I dotn feel like he has any more to offer us for some reason. I hope I'm wrong though. Just like half our team, potter is a rookie as well. The combo of rookie coaches and rookie players rarely works out.

Potter needs at least 1 more year , he came here and we were at the lowest a club can get , massive injury toll , bottom of the comp , we still have injuries but we have improved , keep him but unload our medical staff and rehab people , that mite help
