We wouldn't be able to afford him, so no. He has also shown that without an established and talented roster, he cannot compete. He'll most likely go back to Brisbane and try to deliver that one last premiership, but with him looking to set up his kids he will go wherever the money is.

How many times do you need to be told before you acknowledge it. This is the guy who dropped both Marshall and Farah to the bench, 2 of the most significant players in the history of the JV in his first season, and you're saying he has no balls. Can't believe that people don't think he is worth $250k. Or that we couldn't afford it. There are only about 4-5 elite coaches and the best coaches are worth the money that's for sure. Supply and demand.
Anyway, there are only a handful of coaches I'd be interested in swapping Potter for: Hasler No 1\. Then in no particular order: Bellamy, Toovey, Bennett, Cleary.

Till we can offload some rather hefty contracted players and find some suitable replacements, and they are as rare as rocking horse sh.t, we will struggle with who ever is coach.

No doubt their is a lot of talent coming through our system, but it will not amount to a lot if we dont surround them with NRL standard quality players.

If Potter was given another two years I could live with that and if the board decided to go outside the club I could understand that. I just would not pay top dollar for Bennett.

Yes. It's crazy. People on here rejecting the mere idea of Bennett, like we are so friggin good that we would even have the chance to reject a coach like Bennett.
Makes me so mad!

I remember people on here that rejected the mere idea of DCE, Cronk, Thurston, Inglis, Folau and the list goes on. Forget about the financial aspects or the fact that top-tier players never really considered us in the first place.

It's as if our own fans want us to be in the doldrums forever.

There is very little chance of that happening at Camp Concord!!!

I would love to have bennet associated with the club in some way but giving him total control would be stupid. He has a very defensive (even more than potter) style of coaching.

I have a lot of respect for him as a person though. Would darius wanna play centre?

The son in law last night said Bennett never coaches for money. At that point I thought then we are perfect for him.

Then I read an article where he was offered $900k to return to the Boncos and his alleged comment was "don't insult me". Oops not coming here then.

I don't rate him the best coach ever. Jack Gibson owns that title. The reason being, he went to clubs that struggled and always improved them without taking established stars with him. He made players believe.

Yep and going from one basket case financially to another basket case financially probably isn't really appealing either

He'd love the talent that is coming through though , he has turned many good players into superstars over many years
