Would you sign SBW to the tigers ?

With all the negativity towards him, in the way he left the NRL, I would still like to sign him to the club if the need/opportunity arose. With what he can bring to our club like Marshall, Ellis, Tuqiri and now Blair, I think his signing would be massive. Even more bums on sets.
You wouldn't think he will be that stupid to repeat his actions. Think of all the positives for the WT in him redeeming himself.

Now gareth Ellis is leaving at the end of this year , you could swap him straight in , salary cap space left should be appropriate , and the number 11 jersey for him . Perfect SBW to WTs !

Only need to tolerate him for 80 mins - if that - per week

Yeh, why not

If he came asking me for a job….probably a different story

When you are young you think you can change the world. What Sonny did was immature but he was standing up for what he believed in. He was the type of person who needed a lot of guidance and with parents overseas that had to come from the coach. Problem was his fallout with the coach. He was a boy in a man's body. Not sure if he deserves to pull on our jersey but he must have grown up by now. I reckon Sheens would bring out the best in him on & off the field.

If he was available I would say yes, but all rumours suggest he's a done deal for the Roosters.

I would defiantly take him - he is a fantastic player and imo an alright bloke. I mean you never here of him getting into trouble off the field and yes he left the dogs but he didn't keep any extra money, he organised a release and as such matter was dealt with. From what I know he is a model citizen off the field these days and his boxing well who fights to loose especially in your first couple of fights

I couldn't ever cheer for him. You want people playing for the team, not themselves.

A part time footballer/boxer renowned for walking out on contracts being paid top dollar? No thanks.

Plus I don't ever think he reached the heights that many people talk about, he missed 50% of his games through injury, and never did enough to be remembered as "one of the greats".

Very talented, but I feel people are being fooled by the hype.

Who wouldn't for the skill he possesses, although I find it funny how people are so keen to throw so much money at $BW though. I'm not even going to go into his move from the Dog's, but I find it amazing how a guy who hasn't played the game in years - and can barely get off the bench for the All Blacks - can walk back into league demanding massive money. Yes, there is no doubting he has some great skills and would put bums on seats e.g.. Lote, but I would personally be throwing a massive package at someone like Cronk. I don't want to turn this into another Cronk thread, but I believe he would be a more valuable player to throw the cash at. Great kicking game, reads the game beautifully and is an organised half who knows when to do his own thing. Something the Tigers have missed for the last few seasons.

For roughly the amount of money id expect for him Y wouldnt u want 2 experience players $250k each and a promising junior $ 150-200 k . Would be awesum paying sonny bill to play 10 games a year and be on our casualty list the nrl season is alot harder then what he has been doing . Give me a star halfback before him . then we have to make sure we dont upset sonny and his entourage , Give me someone with half the commitment of ELLIS before sonny

Ellis' departure and the subsequent salary cap space he leaves scares me because there's so much out there that we could pay overs for.

SBW is one of them. Good player with plenty of talent, BUT… He was frequently injured in the NRL, and I don't think I could handle the stench of Nasser and Mundine hanging around Concord. The Cocks are purported to be tabling an offer of $800K a year (taking into account the salary cap increases obviously.)

Then there's the risk of him walking out, however I think he's a little wiser and older than last time and I doubt he'd ever do that again, especially when the game is about to receive a huge boost in funding through improved TV rights deals.

I'd have Cronk before SBW in all honesty.

Theres half a dozen backrowers running around in the comp at the moment that would eat him alive. $800K a year is half a mill too much. The rorters are kidding themselves.
