WT Ownership, The Board & Senior Management - MEGA Thread

Oh great. Our faceless real estate agent is telling the man who built and runs his own legal firm to step down.

Lee has faults, don't get me wrong, but those other board members have been here a lot longer than him and have a resume with far less clout than him.

Our faceless men need to take a good hard look in the mirror. A musician, a broadcaster, a real estate agent and a painter.... seriously.

that is 1000% an attempt from the club to flush out leaks. as if any journalist in their right mind would print that. Moley and his source have been outed.
You know what. I think you are dead set right.
Yet we haven't heard who the leak went too. Surely the WT would be firing people by now as it has been leaked.

And people thought the review would be a waste of time

Granted there's been no change yet but hopefully eventually... But I don't think many saw the IR reaching this far

Never heard anything from lee in anything he's said about the club that gives me confidence in his judgement. Most of his media interventions usually also seem based on ego and generally backfire.

One of countless examples is how he dealt with the controversial cowboys loss last year, massively overshooting by threatening to sue the NRL then looking even more ridiculous by accepting when nothing happens.

Another example Josh Aloia back down, and on and on...

In terms of handling the media, the man is ridiculous and hopeless in his role.

He cost us at least 2 marquee signings cos he couldn’t keep his mouth shut

No one will be up in arms by this news, but, if this invitation to resign has indeed taken place already, it will be the second major move that HBG have executed BEFORE this review is complete.

A lot of people blew up, rightly, about the premature extension. It's easy to miss that this is another pre-mediated and ill-timed move.

(But obviously a well-supported one)

I am all in favour of Lee losing the chairmanship but the thought of having an inept Fatty O'Barrell back in the job is as bad as what we already have,Coates on the other hand would be a far more sensible idea and he has a strong background in the sporting administration.
I am all for change but we need the right person there and certainly not a failed ex politician

Risky territory we are entering.
You’d expect we lose the major sponsorship and Lee might even decide to become a Bulldogs fan…
The sponsorship would have a contract, and i doubt anyone at the club would have agreed to a clause stating the sponsorship can be cancelled at any time should Lee no longer be chairman.

It's contract law, Lee know's that. He can't just walk out on a legally binding contract.

It depends though if the contract is renewed yearly, or is locked in for a certain number of years.

They are in trouble as well. Writing is on the wall

Without the $1m injection in funds from Brydens the club will fold...Lee goes so does the sponsorship.....the train wreck continues
The club will not fold because i would doubt Bridens removes sponsorship.

I agree that the club won't fold if Lee pulls his funds. Sponsors come and go all the time, we would replace them.

I also wonder on how may good potential sponsorships the club may have missed out on over the years due to Lee potentially holding it "hostage" as the chairman. He would never want another brand outdoing his and I have wondered how dodgy it has been over the years with looking for sponsors. We seem to get a decent one every now and again (e.g. KFC), but they never last long, is that because they only want short term deals, or have they been forced out to not outdo a certain law firm.

I also know with how the club has been on field that we may not be drawing mega sponsors, but the brand is also quite recognisable, so what potential sponsors could we attract if the club was run properly?

Can someone please explain how the Board decided to defer recruiting a new GM Football until after the internal review however re-elect the chairman at the same board meeting? I would have thought the internal review may have looked into how the board is led as well.

Wests Tigers chairman Lee Hagipantelis has been re-appointed for another three years after gaining unanimous support from his fellow board members.

Hagipantelis was re-elected at a board meeting on Monday and will now remain in the hot seat at the club until at least the end of 2026.
That's easy. (note it's the Terrorgraph so expect made up crap. Murdoch hates our club).

So Lee is buddy buddy with the rest of the board. Many of the board are non-football. i.e. someone like Lee Hagipantelis opens doors and jobs that they want to have.

You say "yes" to Lee, your career goes places. Honestly Lee is a "good to have" in the club. He is like our "unkle Nick" that the roosters have, just not with Nick's westfield money. (Easts would have folded decades ago except for Nick stepping in).

That said, he shouldn't be in the drivers seat. He clearly has no idea football side. I wonder who manages Nick at the Roosters so that he doesn't stick his beak into things he shouldn't.
