We don't have one and it will continue that way until the clowns running the show settle on one home ground. Either Leichhardt or Campbelltown - don't care which one but one needs to be chosen and stick with it. The other can get a couple of games a year.

I think it is important to have a very clear message around the current structures, why they are not working and strategies for change. Ranting "Sack Pascoe" doesn't achieve anything. If those messages can be delivered through media support in a clear, passionate, calm and professional manner then I believe that is much harder to dismiss than an old man yelling at clouds.

I think the first step in all of that is to call for a proper club wide independent review, including at board level, that would hopefully lead to more professional and rigorous recruitment strategies for key positions within the club. The independent review is important as looking from the outside like we all are it is very difficult to determine where the issues are. We can all guess and are probably right but I think it is important to get these things right.

At present board members are appointed by the various groups that make up the ownership group, this is where the issues lay, there is no accountability around who is appointed.

In all reality to running of the entire Holman Barnes Group, including Wests Tigers and Wests Magpies comes down to the decisions of the 20 people who have control over the powerbase of the Holman Barnes Group board.

Yep - and i doubt that structure is going to change. I think what you have to suss out is what is the benefit to those 20 or so in controlling Wests Tigers. You would have to convince them that they lose nothing by relinquishing control of WT board.

Wasn’t there talk that we were looking to base the majority of games out at Campbelltown next year?
Has gone very quiet.
A decision like that should surely be made soon?

I did see something on here during the off season suggesting that - but as you say i haven't heard anything since.

With Sheens installed for 2 years and Benji contracted to lead in 2025, at worst Benji might come in early, but no way Benji isn't the coach for at least 3 seasons, no earlier than 2024 - they simply won't cut Benji any earlier unless he does something illegal or monumentally stupid.

You probably couldn't get a better guarantee of the long-term coaching situation from any other club.

My understanding is that Benji takes the head coach job at the end of 2024?
When did that change?

If I may add?
Before any discussions can start, we need to know what the agenda is. I would love to know the thoughts of each of the 20 board members to the question..
Why does Wests Tigers exist?
What is it’s main purpose?
If they can answer that question honestly then we have a starting point for further communication, particularly if it coincides with supporters’ views.
It’s highly likely that the board has a similar main purpose?
I realise you’ve already thought through your approach, I’m just thinking out aloud.
It’s an honourable thing you’re doing, which will affect the lives of many people.

Last review of the club the reviewer ended up getting the coaching job after axing the coach.
We might get Des that way.

Wests Tigers is delighted to announce the appointment of former Western Suburbs player, John Dorahy, to the club’s Board of Directors.
Dorahy takes up the position vacated by Simon Cook, who has stepped down after seven years of service to the club.
Dorahy enjoyed a highly decorated playing career amassing 239 first grade games across 15 seasons, including 102 for the Magpies between 1974 and 1979.

He also has a wealth of experience in coaching, having coached for six seasons in the UK Super League, at Wigan and Warrington.
John also brings significant business acumen to the club, having served on several boards, including Wollongong City Council, Leagues Clubs Australia, Wests Leagues Illawarra and Venues NSW.
Dorahy says he’s very proud to take up a position on the Wests Tigers Board.
“This club has a profound impact on the community, and I am thrilled and honoured to be joining as a Director,” said Dorahy.
I grew up following the Tigers and then played for the Magpies, so there is a very strong connection with me and this club.

Cook says he has made the decision to step down due to ‘workload’ and a ‘need for change’.
“I have made the decision to step aside as a director of Wests Tigers,” said Cook.
“The workload in my position as CEO of the Holman Barnes Group has increased to such a level, that I don’t believe I can commit to the time required to fulfil my obligations and duty as part of the Board.
“I also believe that Wests Tigers needs change and regeneration; it is time for Wests Tigers to look to new people with the right skill set who can provide the Club with the success our loyal fans deserve.
In my opinion, John Dorahy is the perfect start to this change.

It didn't change. But some folks have been saying that Sheens needs to go (already), and I believe even if that did happen, it would only mean Benji comes in earlier, not a different coach.

Wonder if this is enough of a "footy brain" change to placate anyone? Very interesting, because Simon Cook has stepped down and he's the Wests Ashfield (now Holman Barnes) CEO, i.e. one of the "top dogs".

Interesting what Cook said when he stepped down :

Maybe they are finally seeing the light.
