Great to see some resilience after however-many-weeks of whatever the opposite is.
The coaching staff really need to find out what gets these guys up and tap into it.
A milestone game a few weeks ago didn't trigger anything and yet we're getting torn to shreds tonight and hung in for the victory... Just happy to get a win in the end, albeit to a bashed-up side.

The same guys are up 9 weeks out of 10. Tonight they made everyone around them better and you could see Brooks and Mbye looked far better without ever overplaying their hand.

Also... goalkicking can keep you in it, as we have learnt many times in reverse.

Agree, it's exciting to see what can happen when those core players get a bit of support. As for goal-kicking, whole-heartedly agree.

Brooks' game improved 100%. All he needed was confidence.

It didn’t for the first 60 minutes, he was horrid. The last 20 he was great and got us over the line.

Forwards were going backwards. A forward he has to babysit in defence. Brooks has a great shoert kicking game. But we need to get field position. The kicks on the third tackle were for that. Unfortunately we cannot defend them yet like the Storm can.

The forwards are not an excuse. Forwards can’t explain when the Wests Tigers make a huge break, of which Brooks was part of, and Grant gets tackled deep in the Manly half and Brooks is the closet player to the play the ball but instead of getting into dummy half, Brooks steps back, probably waiting for Grant to get to dummy half (Grant got tackled with the ball) and then Manly dive on the play-the-ball as there is no dummy half. Brooks is dead set missing a number of brain cells.

It was Mbye that was tackled with the ball. Maybe someone needs to look at the replay.

Grant was there as well. He is our dummy half, but I guess that doesn't fit in with your narrative.

No narrative, Brooks was the only one with a chance of getting to dummy half and he stepped back. I just want Brooks to read the play. At times he is just like a lost puppy and needs to be led around. I’ve been a supporter of Brooks for years but no more excuses. I want Brooks to play like he did in the last 20 minutes for a whole 80 minutes.

He may not have been playing to his usual standard, but I'd rather have a nobody with the right attitude than a high-profile who can't produce. This is what systems like Manly, Raiders and the Storm know and we don't...
Also, the players are not totally wrong about complaining of chopping and changing.
I know it's a little bit different, but remember Bodene Thompson at the Titans? Continually switched between 2nd row and Centres, and if he was off the bench, never knew where he'd end up. When he came to us, he was given an exclusive role in the 2nd row with confidence and turned out one our best players that season. Was sad to see him go.
Tweaking the side at the start of a season is only natural and, at the end, when we're no chance and we're building for next year makes sense. But halfway through a season Madge should've had a gauge on the make-up of his 1st-choice team by then, and I believe Luccy should have always been there, along with Macca.

Madge gave plenty of players opportunity to cement their spots this yr.... 80% of them when given enough rope, hung themselves.

If I was as incompetent at my job in the professional arena as half of our player have PROVEN to be, I wouldnt cop a few weeks off work paid, I would be at centrelink.
