Young Fans Not Choosing the Tigers

My three youngest Kids (&, 12 &13) had a Charity Jersey Day at school down Menai way in Syd.

All were adamant that they DIDNT want wear their Tigers gear.

In the car they were debating which team the should move across to as the Tigers always loose.

The point of this thread is to highlight that this is what years of Garbage results and no clear direction is delivering success in the foreseeable future.

Generational Support is deserting this club.

Really Concerned.
Can you blame them? This club has given the kids no reason for them to want to support them.

I live in Newy and have taken my son to the local games and to Leichhardt a couple of times. Poor bugger has never seen a Tigers win. After the last defeat his quote was "Rugby league has lost its magic". I blame the Roosters and the NRL. Why the Roosters? For cheating so well for so long that teams like the Bulldogs are following their example. While ever it's an uneven playing field, teams down the bottom will struggle. Tedesco should've been a Tiger for life.
Yep...my son also.

My kids are the same . My 15 year old boy has had enough and is adamant he wants a dolphin jersey. My daughter wants to support the rabbits. I don’t blame them to be honest. What an absolute disgrace of a team. My sons under 15 team runs block plays and decoys, these players posing as professionals can’t even pass the ball in front of the player.

Could also be a reflection of the lack of resilience kids have these days. I was given such a hard time at school every Monday in the early 2000s. Never once considered changing teams.

A win really used to feel special in those days. And a loss would ruin your weekend. Now I feel numbed to the losses and expect it.

It's sad but not surprising at all. When just starting to watch the game, why would young fans choose the Tigers? The Tiger is a glamorous, exciting animal but our Tigers are uninspiring and toothless.....
