Young guns re-sign

How bout my two favourite tries of 2009\. The miracle Jordan Atkins esque put down Beau did and the tap inside when the ball was surely going into touch for Collis to score. All Beau miracles. Love the guy.

All youngsters - Let the competition for the top 17 begin

Ryan, Moltzen, Ayshford, Daniella, Brown

My Pics for 2 and 5 if fully fit are Tuiaki and Toupu

Yes - I cant see why Ryan cops so much stick around here too.
I guess its the sheep mentality.
He's showing more than Ayshford is imo.
Crunch year for Blake ayshford '10 imo - the other two have proved themselves, BA has a long way to go.

Crunch year for Ayshford? What, after 10 games? He has another 2 years before he's even close to having a "crunch" year. It took some of the games finest a few years to establish themselves and Blake showed plenty this year to suggest he wont take long at all.

Im only referring to the depth we now seem to possess in the 3/4's.
Just watching the final round dogs game again, Voss mentuioned hes not been able to do anything much the last two off seasons due to injury , no weights at all - hopefully he reaps the rewards from a full offseason this year

Geo: Mainly his passing game (or lack thereof) I find infuriating, he does not even look to pass. The ball goes through hands, I'm on my feet, it gets to BA- I sit down cause thats where it ends.

I don't know why people on here keep thinking Tupou is a winger in our program. As the club has stated before he is going to be converted into a front rower.

When i saw them at Concord last week he is the biggest in the team and will fit in nicely to the front row. I see him as good value on the bench as an impact style front rower - i.e. last 20mins of first half, big menacing prop with good speed and agility running at tired forwards and A defenders.

Additionally you can slot him into the backs or backrow if required. Almost a bit Dave Taylor like from the Broncos/Souths, albeit with a little less ball playing ability.

He may fill the utility role allowing us to carry a dynamic player on the bench suck as Taumata.

Possibly a team like:

1\. Tuqiri
2\. Tuiaki
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Ryan
6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen
8\. Galloway
9\. Farah
10\. Gibbs
11\. Ellis
12\. Heighington/Payten
13\. Heighington/Payten/Fulton

14\. Tupou
15\. Cayless
16\. Taumata
17\. Heighinton/Payten/Fulton

Pretty good looking side there with plenty of cover on the bench:

Backline - Taumata/Tupou
Forwards - Cayless/Tupou/Payten
Halves/Hooker - Fulton

What i even like better is the fact that when you go beyond the 17 listed there is still plenty of depth with the likes of Flanagan, Moors, Brown, Fifita boys, Akeripa, Fitzhenry and all of the young boys coming through. Plus there may still be another signing - Clinton, Lowe, Cashmere etc.

Getting excited already.

Surprised we have kept Beau Ryan - mind you he did imrpove at the back end of 2009 so I can live with his retention. Hopefully he can continue to build on his form.

You dont know why?

He's always been a winger.

Ive not seen anything from the club regarding him, just an addendum re his signing when they announced Fulton was back. Not heard a thing about the front row, can you share this with us.

Maybe its the fact that he was very little pace and half the time in running sideways..

Very happy that Moltzen and Ayshford are resigning though

There you go, BAAAAAAAA

I agree he needs to work on positioning his winger but he can pass maybe it comes more from his lock playing days where he backs himself rather than looking for support…

Spot on too .,....about positional play...every team in the comp works to centre field on kick returns Ryam just gets there faster than most.....
