Why is everyone so quick to judge Farah? I know this is supposed to be "unpopular" opinions, but you are plain blind if you think he is our issue. He's the only thing keeping us off the bottom atm, along with Woods.

LO is a dump.

I imagine those with a sentimental attachment to the place can't see it for what it is…a run down sh!t hole. In the list of surburban grounds I've been too LO is firmly at the bottom. CO is not to far above it. Close LO, spend money on CO or build something new...not in parra though. Maybe Liverpool if folk don't like the trek out to cambletown...I don't care, just close LO.

I agree 100% with this post. An absolute dive.
I also have said since 2006 that Benji is the most overrated player in the NRL. I haven't been too popular on this forum. It's dissapointing to see it has taken several years for most people to agree.

Agreed that Steve Folkes was a huge loss for us, but I also think our win percentage for 2010/2011 was also due to the fact we had Lui at 7

This isnt gona be popular:

In 2009/2010 Wests Tigers started operating the Football Club in a very professional manner built on the leadership and vision of Humphries… Once the knives came out in 2011 and the media started witch-hunts within the players ranks, the club shut-up shop and went back to its 'inner-sanctum' mentality.

2011 also saw the uprising of the Black Bird and as a result of Boardroom wrangling, the Wests Tigers made moves to appease internal factions within its ranks and as a result, has lost its momentum and vision of moving the club forward to become a national franchise within the NRL. At present, we are stuck in the Western Sydney mentality and continue to look inwards, rather than at the bigger picture. The western corridor of Sydney is a myth and the longer the club attempts to appease internal factions, the further away the club will become from financial security.

Australia is a very large country... We need to spread our wings to have a strong and bright future.

I don't think that the Wanderers think that the Western Sydney corridor is a myth!

The Myth is relating to it being RL heartland of the future, and soccer/afl is a good example why.

I wouldnt call it a dump

But they do say love is blind, and some with an emotional attachment to the place may be a bit oblivious to its faults, or only see its positives

Its a victim of progress and population like much of the inner city

I would dispute that AFL has any any impact on the SW Sydney, A-league is a different story - especially in Liverpool with the large population of Serbians, Arabs and Africans etc. But South West Sydney is still RL heartland (the problem is they just don't all support the Wests Tigers) and if nurtured will continue to be for may years to come, especially as the area demographics change.

Old Balmain fans should be gutted more by the '88 FR loss than '89\. The closeness of the score in 1989 did not reflect Canberra's dominance.

My most unpoular opinion about Wests Tigers is Keith Galloway is not a dominant prop and needs to be moved. Moves too slow lateraly in defence and is a liability.

People complaining that the opposition is going to target Utai EVERY single time he's named on the wing. Can anyone remember a game where he had an absolute shocker dropping bombs and letting in tries left right and centre? i can't. Teams hardly even target him, its a myth

GNR4LIFE; trial game vs roosters, round 1 vs knights. As well as a few last season but that's too long ago for me to remember specifics.

He was found out earlier this year, and was either hooked or went off injured. He has deficiencies but this forum tends to overstate them.

If he plays like he did last year he will be a good addition for us.

Biggest issue is that Ayshford and he don't seem to work well together and I worry how in will work on the left considering Chris's diabolical form

I agree with most of what has been said in this thread.
One comment though on 2005….

We finished top 4 in the regular season that year but were inferior to the other three team in that top 4\. Brisbane were on top of the table from rounds 9 to round 25 that year. For 16 weeks straight they dominated the comp. They then finished the year with 5 losses in a row during the regular rounds and lost both finals games (1 of which was to us). Saints finished the year in second with a points differential double ours. They went into the finals on a 8 game winning streak, won their first finals match and then went down to us in the GF preliminary. Parramatta grabbed the minor premiership with a points differential of 3 times ours and went into the finals on a 3 game winning streak that saw them pants Manly in their first game. They completely choked and lost the preliminary final to the Cowboys 29 blot. We led into the finals series on the back of a 9 game streak, however took average form into the finals with 2 poor losses. Once in the finals however, we put 50 on the 5th placed Cows, beat the 3rd placed Broncs and then the 2nd placed Dragons, before again knocking off the Cows in the GF.

Point being, we werent the best side of 2005\. Our 4th placed finish in the regular season was accurate. However, when the finals began, we dominated sides who we shouldnt have. We had to win 4 games in that series against quality opposition and we did it in style. That is not a fluke. The only lucky thing for us was that Parra unbelievably choked out. We beat the equally 4th placed (same points as us) Cowboys twice and 2 sides who were better teams than us all season long to win that premiership. We deserved to be in that final due to our successes at the right times. You never really see the 2 best sides in the GF and that year was no different. However....IT WAS NOT A FLUKE THAT WE MADE IT!!!!!

So my unpopular opinion (incredible as it sounds considering I am saying this on a Wests Tigers supporters forum) is that we did not fluke our premiership.

and by the time the comp finished we had more wins than any other side, and no side had less losses, over the 30 rounds we were worthy premiers.
you always need a bit of luck and things to go your way to win the comp and we had our share (including Parra getting flogged by the Cowboys), winning the comp was no fluke.
