If we make the semis i think we would better off playing either saints or manly as those games will be at Olympic Park and SFS respectively - no home advantage for Sydney teams - if we hit storm, broncos we will have to play in Melb or Bris - both a huge ask.

An excellent point. It may actually be an advantage to finish, say 8th and play the Dragons, than finish 7th and play the Storm. Or whatever…

I reckon we're good for sixth or seventh now. I don't think we'll miss from here.

I still think we can do some damage. All of the experts in the media are saying that teams that finish in the top four would fear playing us in the forts round.

One round gone since this Thread started and the majority (Myself included) are wrong.

I think I will redo this weeks round and see where we end up if we Win and Lose against the Drags.

I've got us with 3 wins from the final 5, finishing 8th. I hope this is a pessimistic estimate and can upgrade it over the next few weeks.

dammit! mine shows us finishing 7th and going up to brisbane… :brick:
i think brisbane and the storm are the 2 most likely at the moment. i hope I'm wrong!!

I ran it with best case scenario - us winning all games and those above us losing to lower teams - lots of upsets - we finish 2nd (highly unlikely) - worst case scenario - us losing all games and other games going as expected - we fihished 8th ( again highly unlikely) - middle of the road had us finishing 7th.

Basically its too hard to call at this stage - i think we can finish anywhere from 2 to 8 - there a lot of matchups of teams in the 8 and still vying for a spot that will have a huge bearing on where we finish.

Time to revisit as we are 2 rounds out of the Semis (and as i have my second coffee in the office)

I see The Tigers finish in 4 and the Dragons in 5th

Got the same Spartan, although with the Dragons v Warriors game I'm still not sure that the Dragons can win, but they are due and it is at home. If they are going to show they are still a force in the finals, they have to prove it in this game.

Storm 46
Broncos 40
Manly 38
Tigers 34
Dragons 33
Warriors 32
Cowboys 32
Knights 30

Lots of Top 8 games in the next two rounds. Warriors play Dragons & Cowboys. Manly play Melbourne and Brisbane. Finals have come early this year!!

Who do you think is the best team to go up against in the finals this year? would it be stchokers with their shocking performance so far, they will scrape in but they probably wont feel like they should be there…

who do we think?

personally i'd like us to go away against brisbane so I can watch more than one game this year, but id rather see them take top 4 and beat a lower team.

Saints won't make top 2 now
Storm
Manly
Broncos
Saints
Cowboys
Tigers
Warriors
Knights

You stopped them in their tracks Happy, and predicted yourself to do so

ok,

ive got:

Storm:46
Broncos:40
Sea Eagles:38
Tigers:34
Dragons:33
Warriors:32
Cowboys:32
Knights:28

with bulldogs missing out on F/A, Rabbitohs on 26.

Tigers v Dragons first up. Hmm…. If anyone is going to be a worry in the finals, it will be them as they are being written off already - however Bennett coached teams have a knack of digging deep come September...

Nothing would please me more than seeing our boys bundle the Dragons out in the first week - however I don't see the knights beating the storm, or the cowboys beating the broncs in away games.

OMG. I've just gone back and re-read my post from the 25th July. How out of touch does this sound now? Think I need to give myself some negative rep points for that effort :frowning:

Loss Manly
Loss Dragons
Loss Panthers

Win Eels
Win Titans
Win Sharks

I think we'll beat Penrith, and push Manly and the Dragons…

Dragons is our home-game isn't it? I think that game in winnable.

…and push Manly and the Dragons we did..... :roll

A lot is going to come out of tomorrow's dragons warriors game.

A big dragons win will drag their points difference right down and let both the tigers and cowboys strike!

Cmon dragons!!!
