Your prediction for head coach??

Steve Folkes is my pick but Kevin Waters would be a very close second. It would be good if he can bring along Dean Pay as defence coach and/or The Axe.

Parish should be last on the list. A would prefer Farah as captain/coach over Parish.

An experienced coach is the order of the day . I would go Anderson, Brown ,Potter .Surely the club would not select an assistant with no top grade experience this is a real gamble and There are enough coaches that fit the bill without going there.Unfortunatly the Warriors could be interested in Anderson and the tigers haven't the money for a bidding war ,I just hope the selection is not done on the basis of who you know rather than a proven track record …this is a plum job reckon Stewart is not happy!

I can't believe we have retrenched an experienced coach and people want a novice to replace him. Wake up, this is not an easy gig re 2012\. The job requires another experienced coach, anything less would be ridiculous. The board should only be considering in no particular order, Folkes, Anderson, Smith, Elliot and possibly Brown and Potter at the bottom end. The teams are even physically. No to Walter's, he hated the Tiger's and no to Parish. Just because someone works with Bellamy doesn't make them a good coach. This year is Bellamy's biggest test. Operating under the salary cap. I wish him luck on Sunday. Go Weststigers!

Ben Elias recruited Tim Sheens who at the time was no friend but I do understand your concerns hiring a rookie coach.

Would want either Kevin Walters, Steve Folkes or Nathan Brown. Would be happy with any of those selections. No to Georgalis, Gentle, Simmons or Parish - that would be going backwards…

just for the record, Brown has a get out clause in his contract to return home if he is offered a nrl gig. Iam sure he is on very good money over their so he would not be cheap

But the ESL is the minor league….the NRL is the big show money can be got around if you want something bad enough.

Brown is the tigers number one choice they are chasing but the dollars just aren't there. They need to come up with some more if they want to sign him.
Second choice is parish, purely on affordability .
Dark horses are Smith and Walters
Georgealis will be struggling to be here next year and possibly Andrew Leeds too.

I'm sure somewhere in the vicinity of 200-250k will find a suitable applicant. Let's not go for a weaker option for the sake of 70-80k. The benefits of a successful season compared to another poor one far outweigh that.

I was happy for Parish to be given a shot, the fact that he'd be a rookie coach doesn't bother me. Two teams coached by rookie coaches just played in the semis last week. However, now that a couple of other names have been thrown up, I think I would rather they went with either Folkes or Walters - both seem highly unlikely to be named though :frowning:

Would love Anderson as head coach. Solid record and can make the tough decisions.

If not Anderson for HC then Nathan Brown, was not very successful with his stint at the Dragons but he was very young and knew the guys too well. He's done well overseas and could bring a lot to the side.

Wouldn't mind Fittler as an assistant. Has a pretty good footy brain on him (although he comes across as a space cadet most of the time in the media). Plus he's one of the boys in a way. So having a tough coach and a more level headed fun coach could be a good mix.
Would benefit guys like Siro/Lawrence/Ayshford.

The others I wouldn't mind as an assistant is Dymock or possibly even Kimmorley (hasn't been mentioned, but a very very good footy brain).

Would also try to get Johns/Kimmorley in to work with the halves. These guys would teach Miller plenty, and they've done some great work with young halves since they retired.

Would like JT as first choice but wouldn't care to see Steve Folks at the helm… Think we need a coach who has had at least some nrl experience...

Its not about who ppl want, the threads about who we think the club will go with.
I think many are taking the financial aspect into consideration when mentioned rookie coaches = cheap.

I'll take a stab and say Tony Smith, only cause no one else has.
Seem to go OK in England

Anderson? Chris?
Elliott? matt?

hehe

Folkes
Brown
Dymock
