*Dwindling crowd numbers.
*Extremely poor membership numbers.
*Nervous sponsors.
*Sitting equal last on the table.
*A coach who admits results arent important at the moment.
*A supposed salary cap mess that will take years to rectify.
*Letting Blake Austin go.
*Letting a stack of experience leave the club and replacing it with rookies.
*3 or 4 quality players short of a competitive squad, coach on record as saying no signing until 2017.
*Rusted on fans no longer going to games.
*Car holding members not even taking up the seats they have paid for.
*Young guns with no clear pathway to the NRL starting to look elsewhere.
* A need to look at setting up a permanent training/playing base being neglected, ie Liverpool development
* A clearer more defined future for the club that doesnt rely on talk or spin
*The lowest media profile we have ever had, to the point of apathy towards our team.
*The grey jersey.
*Balmain on the verge of losing their share of the joint venture.
*Relocation looking more and more likely.

With all these points hanging over our head,an unproven coach and a rebuilding phase that relies solely on the ability of Brooks and Moses to reach the level of the likes of DCE, Foran, Cronk or Thurston we arent placed too well.

Would be great if you could respond with a clear and answerable question or simply state a concern. Perhaps we can get a feel for the most important issues and present them in some way that might see those responsible understand that this type of mediocrity is not acceptable.
 
TITG,you clearly have done some research,quite a bit of what you say is true and at least you are giving your view on the clubs situation at the moment…

having said that,in an earlier thread,I said we are in this position at the club because of previous management and unstable board,the money and opportunities squandered has left us in a situation that to fix will take a couple of years at least...we really have to let this new board do its job,let JT do his job,and at the end of two years if there is no improvement,then we look to other options..in the mean time lets hope we can go forward otherwise,and unfortunately fans,sponsors and other corporate dollars we go elsewhere....
 
the only way we are "stretching the cap" would be if we are front loading the contracts of younger players like teddy/brooks/moses. we let austin, blair, thompson, fulton and koro off the cap this year and replaced them with rookies who shouldn't be anywhere near the net worth of experienced players.

Yeah nah,unless the new boards job is relocation 2 years wont cut it.

People like yourself and Geo shouldnt mistake your own passion as being equal to those who may not post on forums or attend every game. We are not the futurte of this club and we are not the ones who are going to fund any rebuild.

Its the borderline fans, the new fans, the young fans, they are the ones who the board need to worry about.

TITG, possibly correct,however,and I will get shot down for my comment,the Wests Tigers were renowned for their sparkling attacking football,it was what made people come to games,the excitement of the WTs play..however we are told that we have to learn to defend as a team and hence this is the outcome of strangling attack for defence,but its whats needed apparently,hopefully that brand of playing will come back and so will the fans…

*Extremely poor membership numbers - They have been consistent for the past few years and are surely based around clubs success on field.
*Nervous sponsors - I have not heard of sponsors that are nervous. Meriton seem committed for the long haul and it is only recently Rashay's took the sleeve sponsorhip.
*Sitting equal last on the table - Only four points from 7th.
*A coach who admits results arent important at the moment - A coach who is setting the foundations for the future with structures particularly around defence.
*A supposed salary cap mess that will take years to rectify - Agreed.
*Letting Blake Austin go - We have a player (and counting Martin, potentially two) to fill the void. Moses is improving every game.
*Letting a stack of experience leave the club and replacing it with rookies - We are better off without them e.g. Blair.
*3 or 4 quality players short of a competitive squad, coach on record as saying no signing until 2017 - Agreed.
*Rusted on fans no longer going to games - The average crowd year to date is similar to the past two years.

I am not so sure that previous Salary Cap Mismanagement is the only cause of our lack of finances, could it be that because of the lack of income stream from the Balmain side of things has forced management to use X amount of dollars out of the NRL grant to actually run the club

These points were a summary of the what im reading around the forum. If i wanted them answered i would have asked the individual questions in each related thread.
 
If all im going to get here is blind optimism, i will go to plan B and compile the best comments from around the forum. Good luck watering that down lads.

If the claims made by the likes of Anasta are true, there was a lot of money promised to players in the form of third party payments that never materialised, hence Blair asking for an early release and getting it with little argument from the Tigers. In trying to decipher the anecdotal evidence and internet rumours it's difficult for the average punter to say how much space those first graders were actually taking up in the cap. Probably less than we think.

Austin's a different case because he was never on a first grade contract, he was signed to play NSW cup and taking match payments under the second tier cap; his contract was never included in our top 25 cap, so releasing him would have made next to no difference.

^^This is exactly where we need to be focused if we want to go forward ^^

Preaching to the converted is a waste of resources. Listen to there thoughts, but dont get too caught up in selling them the future.

1\. We need to operate within our revenue forecasts to build a solid foundation to allow our structure to stand tall. Spending beyond our means only creates problems for tomorrow. We MUST attract a CEO who can grow our revenue streams into the $30M-$35M category.

2\. We need to drop the Sydney Centric Strategy and start thinking like a NATIONAL Franchise. Its a big place Australia; Asia; Southern Hemisphere. Taking the team to the people through game allocations will grow awareness; memberships & potential sponsors.

3\. We need to start focusing on Tomorrows Customer. They are the future!

Im trying to compile a few quotes to help bring a bit attention to the frustrations of Wests Tigers supporters.

I reckon the first grade team will be better next year than they are this year, i'm not saying they will win the premiership next year but they will be better and probably the following year, but everything has to stay similar like the coach and the halves, fullback ex. because if they going to chop and change the team and the coach they will be going back to square one, because the rookies from last year and this year will start to become seasoned nrl players and more experienced, because you cant be getting any crapper if your playing more nrl games each week, you learn something new everytime you play- experience brings confidence, and some players may also start to fill out a bit more physically which may help certain players, I think some people have to be a bit more patient which a lot aren't.
