Well Watto….Robbie Farah is very versitile player but moreso pumping for a youngster in Chris Corby who is smart around dummy half, hits like a rock in defence, kicks gaols and is another that comes from the long line of Maggies like Fulton, Gibbs, Benji, Lawrence, Dwyer, Skando, Fifita and the great Hodgo before him in treading the Pathway to success from the Western Suburbs Magpies to First Grade with the mighty Wests Tigers.. :supporter:

Corby has been omitted from our 2011 NRL squad on the official site. As has Al Schirnack among others (see my thread for full list).

Pat Politoni has been added to the top squad - and would seem to be next in line at hooker in the new 2011 squad (with Waters also missing out)!

so….

Skando wasn't on the list in 201o neither was Huihahahahau or Meaney at the start...Yet all played FG in 2011...

I would expect like last year a squad of 34-40 at the start of 2011....the fringies can fight it out for their pic on the 'official' site...in Nov - Jan pre-season training....with the rest of them apart from Lortay who can fly in the Wednesday before Rd 1 for all I care...

The fact that Corby was in the top squad in 2010 and will not be in 2011 is not a good sign for him!

And Politoni who is a hooker/half being elevated suggests Chris is down the pecking order! Personally I believe Ryan Carr is a better option than Corby as Farah's back-up - and we also have young Dean Parata in 20s!

Are you even 100% certain that Corby is contracted to the Magpies for 2011? I believe it was the case but cannot be sure!

Ok..are you basing this pecking order on knowledge, opinion or whether or not someone has their pic on the 'official Wests Tigers website?

I that's the case Tame Tupou was a waste of pixel space in 2010…..

Polintini, Carr, Corby and Parata are all talented kids just like Issac De Gois and Lewis Brown before them you can not keep them all...Yes I believe Corby is still playing for Wests next year guess they had to find some room in the photo page the next batch of great younsters.....

The changes to the website have been very selective and very pointed. Only two younsgters have been elevated while 10 players have been intentionally omitted.

I would be very surprised to see any of the omissions in the official full-time training squad!

That includes Al Schirnack, Josh Davis, Rhys Curran, David Fifita etc.

While things may change - they are simply not in the coach's plans!

14.Fulton - depedning game can play tight or wide
15.Dwyer
16.Fifita
17.Brown/Daniella - always come on to spark the play area

I picked Lui as lock - he will be around 96/97kg after preseason, good ball player, can break atackle and have others running anges off him - give Moltz the main 1/2 role.

ur leaving out payten?

At this stage I would leave Payton out yes. We need power players that make meters (yes he is a safe player and makes loads of tackles) so does Hieno, Ellis, Fulton and Gibbs. I think we now need guys that are taking us forward, players that put a little fear into other teams. Gordon Tallis was so good with ball in hand because he made fewer tackles as players didnt want to run near him. Hopefully Fifita and Simon can do that! Add Big Keith and Ellis and we have a good mix.
Lui is strong on his feet and smart - he is also build like a small truck - he can break the line, pop short balls and offload plus it gives us another attacking player to let Benji run his magic and Moltz run the team.
Other locks are not huge:
Glen Stewart - 97kgs.
David Stagg - 95kg
Ashley Harrison - 95kg
Braith Anasta - 96kg.
He is a different player sure but I think he could carve up - plus he could get up and under straight running defenders just like watching the PNG team, he lateral defence is where he lacks and slides off.
My thoughts only

i like the idea Roysta but would Lui be up for all the tackling thats involved even with a solid off season (which might be hard due to all his court appearances) I never thought last year 'wow' Lui's defence is awesome lets put him in the forwards. But it would be good to have a more agile player than todd he's geting on a bit lol
