Your team for round 1 2011

I don't understand why some people want Moltzen at center. Been reading it heaps around here for a while.

One, Ayshford and Lawrence are perfect there. Two, center is a VERY important defensive position. Moltzen wouldn't be able to hack it.

1\. Marshall
2\. Tuqiri
3\. Lawrence
4\. Ayshford
5\. Brown
6\. Moltzen
7\. Lui
8\. Galloway
9\. Farah
10\. Gibbs
11\. Ellis
12\. Heighington
13\. Fulton

I cant think of anything better than benji as a support player all night, especially on the back of this week to come. I'd back him to put 20+ points on.

Moltz in the centre Lawrence to the wing, great speed & more size bringing the ball back.

what the…

Moltzen plays better on the right and I cant see even Tim Sheens moving Australia's second best left centre to the wing!

bob56 clearly does not grasp how difficult & critical centre defence is!!!

It is not all about running the ball bob!!!!

i think its actually a pretty good idea. how many games do we have where lawrence is a stand out? he's solid. thats it. he hasn't done anything magic, he hasn't been consistently amazing, he's solid.

putting him on the wing forces him to use his speed to get on the outside of players and his size to bump them off. i think if he was on the wing he'd score 25+ tries this season.

** edit - i also dont think moltzen should be centres, put benji in the centres, moltzen to five eight.

Don't know how accurate this is, from the Tele -

NRL Injuries - Wests Tigers

Todd Payten (calf, Rd 3)
Bryce Gibbs (knee, Rd 2)
Beau Ryan (groin, Rd 2)

Bulldogs - Greg Eastwood (wrist, Rd 3)

Who's the best????????

Even Benji in the centres is ridiculous, for the same reasons as Moltzen.

Benji at fullback would be interesting, but I don't see it happening.

Who's the best????????

Love him or hate him, over weight or still growing, but until someone can out perform him, Mr Inglis is still the Best Centre in the game….

I think we might see a changing of the guard this year though! :sign:

I agree with u to a point Lets see how he goes without an illegal team and having the likes of Smith , Cronk inside him at club level and Smith Thurston and Lockyer at State of Origin level He won't get the same quality ball and will have less time to make decisions I'm not saying he won't succeed at Rabbits but it will be harder for him and the jury' s out until then Sandow and Sutton aren't in the same class

Lawrence gets quality ball from Benji, Robbie and has a winger like Tuqiri on the outside. They might not be better than smith and grong but mate benji and robbie are close, very close.

Tig prmz was comparing Inglis not Lawrence I think Inglis may struggle at club level without the quality of halves he had at Storm to Rabbits

So you'd weaken two positions to strengthen one?

The team will be announced at an 11am media-only conference tomorrow at Camp Concord.

Should have a fair idea of who will be in it:

1\. McKinnon
2\. Tuqiri
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Brown/Utai (Brown is my obvious preference)
6\. Marshall
7\. Lui
8\. Moors
9\. Farah
10\. Galloway
11\. Fulton
12\. Ellis
13\. Heighington

14\. Woods
15\. Fifita
16\. Dwyer
17\. Moltzen

Agree with that might start with Fifita though

Don't think Sheens will start Fifita, the big fella is still a more promising prospect coming off the bench for impact. If anything he may start Woods who is more of a no-nonsense prop who would be better suited to the early exchanges. As it is though, he may just go with the extra experience Moors offers (although I'm not sold on Moors trial form).

pffft …...Greg Gun for Hire Inglis plays about 8mins in a game.....you r joking all he does is run....fast at that but still he runs...Rowdy is a classic centre sets up his winger Lortay and before him Tuiaki with skill and guile and have u seen him run.....

Man you need your googles checked......
