@Roysta59 said:At this stage I would leave Payton out yes. We need power players that make meters (yes he is a safe player and makes loads of tackles) so does Hieno, Ellis, Fulton and Gibbs. I think we now need guys that are taking us forward, players that put a little fear into other teams. Gordon Tallis was so good with ball in hand because he made fewer tackles as players didnt want to run near him. Hopefully Fifita and Simon can do that! Add Big Keith and Ellis and we have a good mix.
Lui is strong on his feet and smart - he is also build like a small truck - he can break the line, pop short balls and offload plus it gives us another attacking player to let Benji run his magic and Moltz run the team.
Other locks are not huge:
Glen Stewart - 97kgs.
David Stagg - 95kg
Ashley Harrison - 95kg
Braith Anasta - 96kg.
He is a different player sure but I think he could carve up - plus he could get up and under straight running defenders just like watching the PNG team, he lateral defence is where he lacks and slides off.
My thoughts only
Sorry, but I can't agree with this. Payten is a key of the forward pack, and the Dragons game is proof of this. He is a hard worker and a smart player. Robbie might be the captain of the team, but Payten is the real leader in the club, so he needs to be there. Lui at lock is an interesting one. I think his defense still isn't good enough to play lock, but i think we should find a place for him. Maybe he could slot into 7, with Ayshford at lock and Moltzen in the centres
