Your team for round 1 2011

7\. Robert Lui for round 1.

Moltzen is not a halfback, neither is Lui. But Lui is better at halfback.

I think Lui showed last year he can be a halfback. I don't understand why people keep saying he is only a 5/8th simply because he played there in his juniors.

If anything, it's only Sheens team structure that doesn't have him playing first receiver every time.

He is not a typical halfback who controls the play and is the first receiver atleast 3 times in a set. That's what I meant.

Anyhow, Benji will be 6 for sure, it's just a matter of who plays 7 and as far as I'm concerned, Lui MUST be that no. 7\. He has shown us what he can do at the backend of this year. I agree he needs to work on his defence but look at Prince, Thurston etc. they miss more tackles than they make. LUI FOR 7.

If Lui is at halfback then Sheens will probably try Moltzen at fullback again . . .

I like the team posted in Rugby League Week 2011 preview this week.

1\. McKinnon
2\. Tuqiri
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Tuiaki
6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen
8\. Galloway
9, Farah
10\. Gibbs
11\. Fulton
12\. Ellis
13\. Heighington

Payton, Fafita, Dwyer and Murdoch

If we toke that team into a finals match i'd be very confident of beating any of next year's teams.

Agreed except Brown on the bench for Murdoch or fifita.

Mine for 2011:

1\. McKinnon (Brown in for him if he goes down)
2\. Tuqiri (Left Wing)
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Tuiaki (Right Wing)
6\. Marshall
7\. Lui
13\. Heighington
12\. Ellis
11\. Fulton
10\. Payten
9\. Farah
8\. Galloway

14\. Gibbs
15\. Fifita
16\. Dwyer
17\. Daniela

For mine, if Lui carries his form from the Dragons game he should be the walk up start. Moltz has spent a lot of time out of the game and it wouldn't hurt him to miss the first few games as an ACL injury shouldn't be rushed back. Lui went down with a couple of injuries last year anyway, and if the trend continues Moltz will run out in the #7 at some point this year.

McKinnon at FB purely because he's the specialist. Brown would be first choice if Wade goes down.

Personally, I'd like to see Murdoch-Masila get some game time this year, but it won't happen unless we have a prop go down. Moltzen will almost certainly start in the #17, but I'd prefer to have a slick back in there like Geoff, who is pretty zippy and expose tiring defenders out of dummy half. He's not too bad a defender either.

1\. McKinnon if fit (and depending how he, Mullaney and Brown go during the trials)
2\. Tuiaki (right wing)
3\. Ayshford (right centre) (maybe Daniela if he plays better than Ayshford during the trials)
4\. Lawrence (left centre)
5\. Tuqiri (left wing)
6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen
8\. Galloway
9, Farah
10\. Gibbs
11\. Ellis (left side)
12\. Fulton (right side)
13\. Heighington

14\. Riddell/Murdoch
15\. Dwyer
16\. Payten
17\. Fafita

Yep, I believe that Tuqiri should stay left wing with Lawrence, and Tuiaki (fingers crossed) right wing, and I would like to see Geoff Daniella in there somewhere, he's a nippy little player, and Brown too- he deserves a spot. All looks good to me :sign:

There's so many questions left to be answered through off season training/ trials with young forwards coming through, Lui/ Moltzen, Tuiaki, McKinnon, Riddell, Mullaney etc. etc that picking a team at this stage is an absolute stab in the dark.
Can't wait for next season to find out!

The good thing is that we have great enough depth to rotate our forwards and backs to reduce fatigue and stress to the body. With the likes of Fifita, Murdoch and Dwyer coming through we can afford to give Gibbs, Payten or Heighington a spell if needed. I honestly dont know who will be in the side but its definitely a comfortable headache to have. BRET and Wests should domiante NSW cup with all this extra talent floating around

Just looking through some of the teams for round one and OMG I cannot wait for 2011!!!! We have so much talent and depth!
Im thinking its a good time to be a tigers supporter!
