Madden is an organising halfback. You want him to organise and feed him the ball. I don't know why so many get caught up on numbers on backs and who is fed the ball most.

How pathetic was Brooks tonight? Even with both Hastings and Doueihi missing he still couldn't put up his hand to lead the side. Madden was doing all the kicking, running, passing.

If Brooks can't even contribute when literally all our other halves are out then when will he actually step up. The answer is never.

Playing him any further is just holding us back. Once Hastings is back Brooks should be on the first plane out of here to anyone willing to pay the majority of his salary, or offer a suitable trade.

Bench hooker for mine once Hastings is back and until AD returns.

Once AD returns if he hasn’t Ben Hunt’ed himself into gear I’d shaft him and play AD-Hastings as halves and reevaluate Madden based off his next 8 weeks

Can't see Laurie getting dropped after last night if he wasn't dropped after last week though.
He was good under the high ball last night but his support play is abysmal. Our support play as a whole is costing us games, Luciano should have at least 1 player trailing him every single time he hits the ball up.

Whilst Brooks may not have been the problem though, he sure wasn’t/isn’t the solution/answer.

He gets paid the big bucks to direct the team and manage the game. That’s what good halfbacks do.

Hughes, Cleary, Reynolds, DCE, Hynes, Keary, Moses, Hunt all set an example and direct their teams (captain or not).

Brooks is worse than most, if not all of the above starting halves.

Even 8 game rookie Sexton had the footy-nous and courage to shoot one up at the posts and make “the big play” when it mattered. We saw Hughes do it to us in round 1 with game on the line.

I really liked Brooksy as a player up to the back end of last year and would stick up for him, and still regard him as a real good nice, humble guy.

But he just isn’t a liable way forward for our team. Sure he may kill it somewhere else but just because he may fit nicely somewhere else doesn’t mean he fits nicely with us

I'm very disappointed with this guy.
His strong points is he is an instinctive sort of player and at his best can be awesome.
He has laspes in effort and discipline which I can't understand why he was signed in a “Madge style team"
Madge hates ill-disciplined players. 🤔
At this stage I can't see any other way to get To'a a run than to give Peach a spell and reshuffle the backline.
We seem to have too many ballplayers and no Big bobpers like Stef to charge at the line, bend it.
Sounds like Sheens is working on that right now with the 2 Sharks players and Nanai [think Nanny is no go]
Need some cavalry real quick.
