At the back end of 2017 Tui was great at no6, so why not give him a go. Benji in a very strong club might offer something but sadly we need a new no6

Because apparently he’s not fit. Yet the current 5/8 can’t play 80 minutes either apparently. Yet no talk of him being unfit 🤔

You're kidding Milky! You're going to shovel Thompson to the wing for Tui? Thompson has been a revelation at the back this year and Lolohea has been unfit/ injured/ out of form all year. I'm not even sure if he's available. It's interesting how fans get fixated with the worth of a player while pillorying another player unmercifully.

We scored one try in 80 mins of footy against the warriors…

Completely agree… We weren't going this bad when Tui was at the back. Not that it's Thompsons fault

I think he only played one game for us at the back and other than his goal kicking, he added nothing. The whole point is that he is carrying a knee injury and has been ordinary in ISP. I don't get how he can make us a better team…at the moment...

Lolo is also still learning the fullback position. Thompson is a runner & does nothing in terms of playmaking.

In the games Lolo plays, where he has joined the attack, he is running the wrong lines and taking the space of the edge players, effectively leaving him with no support and the only option being the long pass (which has gone forward a bit) to the winger.

1 Thompson
2 Nofoaluma
3 Marsters
4 Fonua
5 Naiqama
6 TBA
7 Brooks
8 Packer
9 Liddle
10 Grant
11 Taylor
12 Chee-Kam
13 Aloiai
14 Matulino
15 TBA
16 Eisenhuth
17 Twal

Who know who TBA’s are but the coach has to decide what’s BEST for the team. He’s coached long enough to know the answer.

I would be happy with that Geo, ET was so much better at 9 than Godinet, and it is not wholesale changes.

Don’t know about Rowdy…..looked like he was in Disney land last time I saw him. Might need the week off. Sue I think knocked himself out again trying to score a try.

Its hard to pick a team when you don't know who's available but Nofo, Benji, Rochow and Godinet need a spell in ISP.

Matulino
Nofo
Rochow
ET
Adding zero at the moment

Eiso isn't far behind them but is playing out of position he shouldn't be picked in the front row.

1\. Thompson (we need a genuine fullback long-term he's not it)
2\. MWZ
3\. Masters
4\. Kev
5\. Fonua (not sold on him though)
6\. Benji (needs to improve)
7\. Brooks (looking lost again, hot n cold)
8\. Packer (if fit otherwise ???)
9\. ?? Mitch Rein???
10\. Twal
11\. Lawrence
12\. ??? (Someone who runs harder than ET and makes more than 13m, me maybe)
13\. Eiso

14\. MCK
15\. Aloiai
16\. Grant
17\. Liddle

1\. Thompson
2\. Nofoaluma
3\. Marsters
4\. Chee Kam (Had a blinder last night and no better centre options)
5\. Fonua

6\. Gamble (Would give him a shot as very disappointed with Marshall)
7\. Brooks

8\. Packer (we miss the captain of the bus big time)
9\. Taylor
10\. Grant
11\. Lawrence
12\. McQueen (your chance to shine in the NRL)
13\. Eisenhuth

14\. Liddle (really need him to play each week)
15\. Matulino (last warning to improve big time)
16\. Twal
17\. Aliaia

I would drop Kevin, Marshall (can play on bench if Liddle is out), Rochow (performances have dropped off significantly)

IC needs players to show accountability no matter who they are

if lolo is fit i say put him back to 5/8 he played well there last year, but are real problem is are forwards they have gone missing over the last 3 weeks, as we have come up against 3 big packs and we have gone missing, so maybe we need to find a couple of bigger bodied players as we are now getting dominated, just my thoughts on things. where they come from well thats IVANS problem, maybe he needs to squeeze some of these teams who under cap pressure more.

1\. Thompson
2\. MWZ / Lolohea
3\. Marsters
4\. Naiqama
5\. Fonua
6\. Marshall
7\. Brooks
8\. Packer
9\. Liddle
10\. Matulino
11\. Lawrence
12\. Chee-Kam
13\. Taylor

14\. Eisenhooth
15\. Twal
16\. Aloiai
17\. McQueen

Safe to say will take the week off.

Maybe play Lawrence at 5/8? I seem to recall our very wise ex coach comparing him to Laurie Daley.

Thompson
Nofa
Esan
Kev
Fonua
Tui
Luke
Packer
Taylor
Mats
Rowdy
MCK
Huth
Twal
Grant
Liddle
Sue

as much as i hate it, benji can't go anywhere until reynolds is back and after 3 bad games, he's due for a good game (i.e. 2 good and 1 bad play)

1\. thompson
2\. mwz
3\. kevvie
4\. marsters
5\. fonua
6\. benji
7\. brooks
8\. packer
9\. taylor
10\. matulino
11\. lawrence (hope he's ok- we really need him)
12\. mck
13\. huth

14\. liddle/mcillwrick
15\. twal
16\. sue
17\. grant

matulino, twal and grant have been great- sue has also been good but packer is a certainty. lawrence and mck if uninjured should be our backrowers for the rest of the year.

need to work hard on ball security

–> Our outside backs are pretty decent with the exception of some poor defence & discipline from Nofo, Fonua and Marsters. They all need to improve defensively and not make dumb mistakes.

1\. Thompson (safe and will be good if the team goes forward as he does back up the players up)
2\. Nofoaluma
3\. Marsters
4\. Chee Kam (This gives us a backline that is going to have some impact)
5\. Fonua (I really like him but he needs to work on his defence especially when to come in)

--> These two need to improve.
6\. Marshall
7\. Brooks

--> The forwards have been dominated 3 weeks in a row. We need a massively improved performance here.

8\. Packer (if he is back)
9\. Godinet (I wish we had better but we don't)
10\. Matulino (he has been poor and our forwards have struggled)
11\. Lawrence (playing great)
12\. Aloiai (if he doesn't make mistakes he is a weapon)
13\. Taylor (He works so hard and we need to base our pack around his effort)

14\. Twal
15\. Felise (deserves a chance)
16\. Eisenhuth (give Taylor a rest)
17\. Liddle (If he is back. If not Sue comes in and Taylor moves to hooker)

Until Tui is fully fit and smashing it up at fullback in ISP, I am not even considering him to come back as our NRL no.1\. Seriously, there are young kids running around at fullback in other teams in the ISP, that are on fire each week, doing a great job and Tui doesn't even compare to them, so why is anyone considering replacing Thomson for Tui at this point in time?!
As for Gamble replacing Benji - that is not going to happen either at the moment. Gamble will get a run in NRL at some point and will hopefully prove himself at that level, but Ivan doesn't throw guys into a team on speculation.

Our problem is simple, its clearly a REALITY CHECK…...as much as our squad lifted themselves to perform at close to 100% for the first 5 rounds, once that was done and they then had to reset their goals to the long hard season ahead, it was obvious that performing week after week at that level, especially with injuries depleting the squad, was always going to be a huge task.
Take an honest long look at our roster...., now compare it to any of the top 10 teams. When it comes down to the long hard grind of NRL, week after week against quality opposition, our squad falls short in a lot of areas.
Ivan has been great and has done wonders to commence building a new culture and breathe some fresh enthusiasm and attitude, but it is a long term process and we all must be patient and not let a few early wins get us all too excited to the point where we stop being realistic.
I honestly would be happy if our team this season tried their guts out for 80 mins and showed some grit and spirit each week. Sure it will be nice to make the 8, and maybe they can, but I think we have already come a long long way in the last 8 months.
