Your team v dragons

Ayshfords form dropped of a cliff that year didn’t it, and never returned.
I remember watching a 2010 game replay at the end of 11 (coming into 12) and I saw things that worried me…
I spoke about it here and claimed anyone that thought we were in for a good year in 12 might get a shock… the team I saw from the 2010 replay would have put 50 on the team in 2011…
I was howled down of course - because we’d just bought Blair etc, etc, etc…
Rowdy was coming back from injury and every other excuse that could be offered up.

We should have bombed the team back then, but we kept just trying to hang on - add another player - just one more player..
squeeze the very last good footy out of the core of the side.
the truth is we were on the slide for 3 years before we knew it, then the bulk of that side expired, we bought some lemons and put the control of the whole team in the hands of a couple teenagers…

10 years later - here we are!!

I think that’s about where Parra is at…
There’s not enough new blood in the squad… they’re wringing the chamois for all they can get, it might hurt them…

Benchie for mine…
Can do edge, or further out…
Tough enough to come on in the middle if needed…
Problem is - we’re carrying Simpkin as well… leaving us light.

I had hope Rua might come on, and be able to do both for us… we’re desperate for a Halatau right now…
(Weird we let Nu Brown go?)
At the risk of getting shouted down
- Will Smith would be my bench utility…

can cover everywhere bar prop…
Yep we need someone who can cover Hooker, 2 r, lock and centre, but so does everyone I guess.
I was hoping we would have seen Rua progress a little better too, we need to know if we keep him or simpkins or one of the other many hookers, we now have more second grade hookers then high st Penrith.

I remember having a similar conversation with my uncle and whether Blair was actually the right fit for us we had both been keeping and I on him and said no. We both still put a 100 on us to win the gf that year. Bet with ya head but ya heart.

As long as Api can play 60, Simpkin should be on the bench. Simpkin's young but clearly improving.

I'd think we actually smash the Dragons as their forward pack is average. But last year we lost to them because we couldn't score and this year might be the same.
Yep as good as last nights win was our failure to capitalise on the time we spend in the opposition 20 mtr zone is still a major problem. One thing i notice is when we are in the 20 mtr zone we just use our forwards to setup field position - I'd like to see Klem, Uto and Pole hitting the ball at pace occasionally in the 20 mtr area. They all have the abilty to break the line when they hit it hard.

in a perfect world you wouldn’t change a winning side, but Naden suspended forces our hand.

Kepaoa has some work to do defensively. Suli will give him a bath if he’s not careful.

I reckon the team looks better with Naden in it.

We need more Mongrel players like Naden & Bateman to rough & touch up the opposition otherwise teams will walk all over us
We have enough sensitive pansies on our team
We need to harden up & strike fear into the opposition 💪😁💪
Players like that can sometimes cost you a game due to their brain snaps but most of the time they win you games & their aggression also rubs off on other players toughening them up mentally
