Tuqiri might not play, in which case team is virtually unchanged with only decision whether you continue with Payten off the bench.

If Tuqiri play's I don't think you can drop Utai totally on the basis of that performance. I would be leaning towards dropping Payten if he doesn't show something soon, can't carry him into finals, maybe one last chance.

I think it might be worth giving Fifita or more particularily Pearn a run.

I think Groat needs a NYC spell just to dominate at that level for a while (+ the team is lost without him there)

Yeh but the priority is the NRL squad, so what if 20s arnt winning if it means the NRL squad is stronger, which I think it is with groat in it

I am talking in terms of Groat and the NRL side as well though.

Young players have a tendancy to burn out in the grind. Woods went through it and rather than Groat do the same a spell could not hurt him

2 Beau Ryan
1 Moltzen
5 Lote Tuquiri

3 Blake Ayshford
4 Mitch Brown

6 Benji Marshall
7 Robert Lui

8 Bryce Gibbs
9 Robbie Farah
10 Keith Galloway

11 Liam Fulton
13 Chris Heighington
12 Gareth Ellis

14 Matt Utai
15 Todd Payten
16 Matt Groat
17 Aaron Woods

2 changes to the starting line-up. Lote comes back to start on the wing. McKinnon moves out for Utai on the bench. If Lote is not back then Utai to start on the wing with McKinnon on the bench.

Willow, you are a highly respected member of this forum, I believe. You post sensible logical comments. Can you please enlighten me as to your inclusion of Moors as I have no idea about BRET.

Given the role and performance of Payten at the moment, I feel he is a 5th wheel out there. He has made practically no yardage in his 3 matches back from long term injury and last night did not make 1 hitup. Junior Moors on the other hand can either play in the front row, or as a wide running backrower where he has a good offload, and he'll take more stopping in attack than Payten will. Based on this, I'd be inclined to give Moors 25-30 minutes a game on both sides of halftime and tell him to rip in, make some metres and work hard in defence.

Moors has been in good form for BRET this year, and given Payten clearly looks broken out there, I think the Tigers have more to gain rather than lose in this instance. The other option is to give either Andrew Fifita another shot or Andrew Pearn who will hit it straight up the middle with no questions asked.

i have just noticed that im the only one who has named 4 forwards on the interchange.

i would be hesitant naming mckinnon at fullback because he could get injured again at any minute which means we would have to name a back on the bench.

moltzen went good at fullback against penriff but im not confident that he would have 2 good games at fullback in a row.

im surprised we havent really given brown a go at fullback this year. he went well at fb towards the end of last year. also we need to see if he can still play fb because mckinnon and moltzen arent with us next season so we need to know if brown can handle fb still or if we need to buy someone else.

moltzen at centre because he will give good ball to lote. moltzen is quick enough for centre aswell, but i cant see him breaking the line with strength.

utai needs atleast a week in nsw cup in my opinion. his last 2 weeks have been very disappointing. beau ryan is actually in better form than utai so he deserves the right wing spot for now.

payten doesnt look like he can play too many minutes but starting on the interchange he wont have to. he can play 2nd row or front row. he might not be on for long but his defense should be good and might create an opportunity in attack for a try

we need fifita to fire up & play his best. we need an impact prop on the interchnage for the finals. i cant see woods or groat being that type of player

i havent seen many balmain games this year but i hear that moors is going well. he can play front row or 2nd row. he can be good out wide with his offloads and hard running. he can also be good in the middle at prop close to the try line.

let groat, murdoch, begovich help the under 20's team this week

i have watched a few BRET matches and moors has been very good. i noted last week he was running out wide when the balmain side were attacking and was able to break tackles and offload as well. i reckon his game is up a notch or so from last year. unfortunately i must agree that toddy looks broken and maybe age and injuries have finally caught up.
